"I frickin hate the Braves"

The Braves were the one pro franchise that the State of Alabama has traditionally followed. I grew up in a family of Alabama graduates who never paid much attention to pro sports. My grandparents and dad were from the generation where baseball was the big sport. We all were raised to be Braves fans.

I'll never forget my little private school in West Central Alabama putting Braves banners up all over our quad during the 1991 playoff run. That's when I realized just how big Braves baseball was even in the State of Alabama. They even announced Braves scores over the P.A. system in BDS when the Braves clinched the division and there was a roar in BDS when the score was announced.

isn't the saints fanbase the definition of bandwagoners?

You've got to be trolling? Sure they've added lots of fans since 2009 (mostly women), but Saints fans have been abused since 1967 by a shitty team and yet the fans have been there. Some might have worn paper bags, but they showed up! Maybe it's because I grew up in a lifelong Saints fan family, I just don't see the bandwagon thing. Everyone I know is a Saints fan and has been since the day they were born.

I've adopted the Saints when I moved to Mobile six years ago because the Saints (being only a 2 hour drive away) are a big deal in Mobile. The Saints are like the Deep South's version of the Green Bay Packers (minus the championships). Incredibly loyal fanbase and a college type atmosphere at games.

The beauty about franchise team is there really is not state affiliation. Technically I should be a Texan fan or a Cowgirl fan. I said frick no to that, since I like the attitude and culture of the Saints SINCE sean payton took over.

I think it's great Alabama fans like the saints as a football team. That's more eyes on the Saints team which would make them even more profitable long term.

Also if there is one thing the state of Alabama knows, it's great football and coaches. They see that in Sean Payton. So why the hell not?

You want to be like a Carolina fans? Game cocks are for them. How about Dallas? Aggies loves the Cowgirls. Florida like Tampa or Miami...

I like the block of state the N.O saints get with Alabama, Miss, and Louisiana.

I really should be a Raptors fan but I have an attraction to the swag of that Heat franchise. But only SINCE they got that Shane Battier fella

Didn't read the entire thread.

Have there been any references to the upcoming Sugar Bowl/Krystal Burger yet?
