To be fair, he didn't fully change it, nor was it his intention. He forced a new mentality into the minds of players and fans. Bama has to earn it, they'll never just get it because of the script A on the field, but the expectation should always be to be perfect. Nothing should satisfy anyone unless the team is perfect. Not just a perfect record, but perfect.

Anytime Alabama has a bad couple of years people love to kick them while they are down while they can.
It was always something a long the lines of "Haha, Bear is dead, Alabama will never be good again, haha, haha"
After Saban leaves the first bad strech Alabama hits you'll hear it again, just with Saban used instead of Bear.
"Alabama will suck once Wallace Wade is gone!"
"Alabama will suck once Frank Thomas is gone!"
"Alabama will suck once Bear Bryant is gone!"
"Alabama will suck once Gene Stallings is gone!"
"Alabama will suck once Nick Saban is gone!"
Will Alabama hit a down period again? Yep, it's inevitable. It also seems enivitable that it will be a temporary thing.

That's what I meant. Bama wasnt gonna win just because of being Bama. He also saw that Bama was falling behind as far as facilities in the SEC.

The SEC rant exists because it was the designated place for all the Bama fans who signed up on TD.com to troll LSU fans after Saban was hired

We used to post on tiger droppings an it wasn't too bad. Some were pretty accommodating as long as you weren't stirring trouble. I came here during the coaching search. I was a member of tide fans and saw a link to this board. I had heard Jimmy Ott Talk that he was hearing rumors of Saban to Bama so I came hear to see if there was any truth to it. Tide fans thought it was Petrino
