Many were awarded after the fact. Retro MNC. No trophies.

If Bama had not claimed 1941, they would have the ability to judge others even though 5 were added when Perkins was the coach.

Ole miss claims 3 MNC and none were by polls

TAMU added two prior to joining the conference.

UGA just went from 2 to 5.

I think all this right here is why Jay Jacobs thinks AU should claim there's. If others are claiming them for exposure and marketing purposes, then why not Auburn?

The only one that Auburn really has to right to claim in my opinion is the 2004. There was a procedure in place to name a champion and Auburn didn't even get to go to the game. The loser of that game would qualify before Auburn does.

In reference to the 2004 Auburn ring shown and is currently for sale on ebay for $4500, I noticed that it has SEC champs on the side. Does Alabama's last championship ring mistakenly have SEC champs and if not what words have replaced it. Just curious, that's all.

Alabama has all their AP, UPI, BCS, FWAA, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, and random bowl trophies. The have all 23 of their SEC trophies, plus the 4 Southern Conference Trophies. They are housed in the Bryant Museum and the Mal Moore building in the Hall of Champions.

Also have trophies won individually, like the Heisman, Lombardy, Butkus, Thorpe, Golden Arm, Outland, etc.

Some bowl trophies....

Hall of Fame plaques

Some of the Trophies won by Coach Bryant.

Uh yea, it has SEC champs on the ring. Along with BCS champs.

See if you can pick it out:

Which year? I believe there were BCS Bowl rings, BCS champ rings and SEC champ rings. The BCS Champ rings had the players name and the record for that year on one side and the score of the champ game on the other

Yes it is real. So again, go ask your athletic department since they are already doing it

OK, that does it. I am claiming the 1981 State Championship in football for Mississippi. We only lost a few times and those teams were not in our district, they didnt have a playoff sytem and our hometown paper said we were the best on the Coast so we were probbaly best in the State too.

Where is my fricking ring?

1925 rose bowl? Wasn't Bama like the 5th or 6th choice after a bunch of teams declined? Some de facto national championship.

In their defense, the Rose was the only bowl game until 1934.

Yeah, but the problem is the top teams in the country almost always turned down invites to it.

Really, bama claiming the national title of the 1925 season is about the same as if Clemson had claimed the 2013 national title. About as much merit.

True I guess.

Clemson actually has a stronger claim to the 2013 natty than bama does to the 1925 one.

Seriously.

No, I am not. I am stating truths.

Clemson was actually ranked higher than bama would have been in an AP poll in 1925 and performed much better in their bowl against a team with a similar ranking to what Washington's would have been in 1925.
