Miliner would step on AU's campus and be the no1 corner.

Would barely make 2 deep.

If I had to guess it might have something to do with June 5th when he was having an argument and the next thing you know he had a gun pointed at him in the WCA parking lot. He promised to stay out of trouble not go looking for it.

Who knows though, it might be as simple as him not grasping 3 offenses in 3 years.

I don't see how anyone can say this. He's already in the two deep of arguably the best secondary in the country. I wouldn't say he would be the best DB at Auburn, but he would certainly contribute a lot. People are projecting things on him based on his sketchy performance against some very good WRs. He was a true freshmen in a scheme that can leave CBs on an island.

This. He'd definitely be in the two-deep, he'd be on the field in nickel for sure

just a bad week and it just keeps getting worse.

He is getting better, but he could be coached by Cooper right now and you probably wouldn't see much of a difference between his play from Saban coaching. He left before we hired Cooper I believe.

I was thinking rashard johnson(sp?)... he was a safety who came out of no where in 08.

Yes, and M. Johnson went to St. Louis, not Detroit.

Rashad Johnson was already a quality player in 2007, before getting lots of recognition in 2008.

Marquis Johnson, on the other hand, was pretty much an afterthought his first three years. He played sparingly until his senior year, until he came into his own against South Carolina that season. He played strong down the stretch. It was enough to get drafted by the Lions.

You're right. Detroit drafted Ramzee Robinson several years ago.

But that scrub wasn't good enough to start at LSU?

He would not be in the 2 deep at LSU this year.

What's happening with John Fulton? If Demarcus Milliner is struggling to beat out Phelon Jones for the nickel CB spot, that's not a good sign.

To be fair, not many CB's would.

If Phelon beats out Milner then I agree he doesn't deserve a 5th *

Who cares about a 5th star now. He played as a true freshman and he's fighting with a senior for playing time. He beat out Phelon Jones last season as a true freshman. Phelon could very well have grasped the defense a little better and learned better technique to challenge Milliner.
