I understand that Bama has a good d, however they haven't played a team as talented as UK yet. If we get in foul trouble you can win and that wouldn't surprise me at all. If we don't you probably get rolled. Go Cats!!

I dont think you fully understood until now...

As a lifelong Bama fan who grew up going to MANY MANY Bama basketball games (along with MANY football games) since the early 80s as a kid, the misconception Catfan81 is typical of many rival SEC fans regarding Alabama basketball. Historically, Alabama has arguably the 2nd greatest basketball history in the SeC. Bama`s basketball fans are also totally different than Bama football fans. Bama basketball fans are WAY more more cosmopolitan and white collar than Bama football fans. I`ve been going to BaMa games in both sports for 30 years and the difference between BAma football and basketball fans is night and day.

Historically, this is a valid argument. Who else would be a clear-cut #2? Nobody, but the case could be made that it is Alabama.

If you guys would have been in the league since the beginning, it would be you guys, but you don't have that a deep of a SEC history. The NC you won early on is STRONG, but that doesn't make up for decades of basketball in the conference.

It was a more valid argument up until 10 years ago or so. Lately, well, I can see why you put the icon...

Good, you could use some humility, cause you're being an arse about the whole thing.

I despise basketball and never watch it - however i watched that game for the 2nd 1/2 (missed the 1st half due to work) - was a great game for what I saw, and grats to Bamma for winning.

"2 posts but you didn't answer the question?

He didn't answer because he apparently can't read. "Historically" means all time. Arky has only been in the league since 1992. If they had been in the league all along then they would likely be the #2 all time SEC program. LSU has some Final 4 experience, SEC titles, and great all time players and Florida has been brilliant since the mid 90s, but ALL TIME I think Alabama and probably Tennessee have as good a claim as anyone else as the SEC's all time #2 basketball program.

Laugh all you want Arky fan but a thorough study of SEC basketball history backs this up.
