Bama wasn't trying to make the BCS title game instead of the conference champion who had beaten us, we were trying to IN ADDITION to them.

OSU is trying to make the playoffs INSTEAD of a conference champion who beat them.

I'm not against non-champs making it, but not over the champions if that champion has a viable argument. The only way a conference champion should be left out for a non champ is if there is a major upset in the conference championship game and some 8-4 type team wins the conference.

Head to head win and the conference championship trumps one extra loss IMO in Penn State's case this year.

If OSU want to argue they should go, it should be instead of Washington.

11-1 Ohio State with a single score loss to the conference champion. How can you leave them out? They are a top 4 team without a doubt.

It doesn't matter whose spot they want. If the committee puts them in, I don't think too many people will have a problem with it. Are they deserving over a Penn State? Probably not. The only thing in their favor would be one less loss.

I think they are better than Washington, so yes, you could put them in over UW.

Hard to argue they are better than Penn State. PSU beat them and has a good resume besides that. Wisconsin was a great team.

PSU lost to Pitt. Were is OSUs bad loss? PSU lost by a lot to Michigan. OSU beat Michigan.

OSU has one loss by a single score to the conference champion. PSU has some bad marks on their resume that OSU just doesn't have. OSU > PSU.

Today the committee will chose between UDub and PSU.

I think they will take the easy way out and choose the 4 teams that have 1 loss.

PSU lost to Pitt and lost to Michigan by a lot. OSU is consistently a better team. They would beat PSU at least 7/10 games played.

I agree with this completely. Very different scenario.

The justification for Bama was that we lost to the best team in the country other than ourselves by a FG in overtime. Most people truly believed that the two best teams were LSU and Alabama.

In this case, putting it Ohio State and not Penn State is hard to justify. And putting in two Big Ten teams would be bullshite - you may as well drop Clemson too and put in Michigan. This is why you err on the side of one team from a conference unless it's crystal clear (like one less loss and a tougher schedule) that you bring in the second. Penn State has a blowout loss to Michigan, and lost to the only nonconference opponent with a pulse.

Not really that hard. 2 losses; one loss.
