It is a little amusing to me how much Bama fans think Johnson has improved their program. I understand why because it seemed like you guys had a legitimate chance to make the tournament this year.
But if you look at the KenPom ratings (a much better measure of how good a team is), Bama is in the 80s this year while they were actually in the 50s last year. So it's actually a decline in quality despite the better resume.
I think the reality is that Grant didn't leave the program in as bad of a shape as some of you think, and it was def in better shape than what Pearl got.

Avery did a good job this season but any SEC fan other than UK would trade their coach for Pearl in a heartbeat. Pearl inherited a dumpster fire of epic proportions and it's going to take time to turn it around.

AJ did not inherit much himself. He has kids that will never sniff an NBA team and beat some pretty good teams who should go dancing. Conversely he lost to some chitty teams too. But this team with our former coach would at best be a 500 team.
