Yeah we did. Vastly overrated. At least now they can concentrate on basketball.

Bama won because of AUs lack of defense combined with Bama's good defense in the redzone against us. If AU had half the Def bama does they win IMO. Kiffin has done a good job this year with that offense so it would've been close either way.

WTF happened? Unlike LSU, I don't think anyone saw 8-4 coming for the defending SEC champs this year.

LOL I predicted 8-4 for LSU and everyone lost their shite

Toughest schedule in the country.

Unforced turnovers and penalties in big games.

Lawson and Kozan going down before the season.

Unexplainable regression on defense.

Despite all that the only wtf was A&M and we let that game beat us twice by failing to get up for UGA the next week.

9-3 with losses @State, @UGA, and @Bama while winning @KSU, @Ole Miss, vs. LSU would have been acceptable even if somewhat disappointing.

The A&M game really fricked the whole season imo.

I don't think their year was so different than last year, they just didn't win all the games that they pulled out of their asses last year.

Bingo! Last year, if State doesn't rollover on Auburn's last drive, Georgia DB simply knocks the pass down, and Alabama/Saban doesn't inexplicably go brain-dead in the 4th quarter, then what would Auburn's record have been?...yep, you guessed it!

This year if Ark doesn't fumble at the bama 1 yard line miss a chip shot FG and badly underthrow a wide open receiver on what could have been a game winning reception, LSU doesn't kick the ball out of bounds/get screwed by the refs, Dak doesn't poop his pants every time they get near the bama goal line, Auburn DB's don't stop guarding Cooper what is bama's record?

7-5? Ouch, Saban should probably be fired based on all these wild hypothetical losses.

Auburn lost their best DL and best OL to begin the year. Not an excuse but it did hurt due to depth. This led to teams being able to exploit an already thin secondary on defense. The LB play was average at best. On offense, while CAP had a solid season, he did not pose that threat that Mason did. Grant was good at times but needed more consistency. It seemed that Auburn did struggle on offense when they could not get the corner. Throw in injuries to their two best WRs that slowed them down, a few bad breaks they had that went their way the year before and they lose a couple of games they probably would have won otherwise. The schedule did them no favors either.

I agree with all of this. A nice, well-thought out post.

Neither, although I firmly believe Alabama wins.

You can "what if" everyone to probably two or three more losses.

I was wondering who all would take the bait!
I sincerely wish Auburn, and all the SEC teams, success in their bowl game.

All that is accurate about AU's 2013 season Crisp but you gotta give them and Malzahn credit man. AU's offense and that Malzahn system is pretty effectice. We've had trouble stopping them two years in a row now.

10-2? The only one we would have lost would be UGA, and they shouldn't have had the lead in the first place.

Handed" is the problem with this Auburn team. Way too many times, teams were "handed" points thanks to turnovers on offense and lack of defensive strategy.

Except against us. You pull your typical rabbit out if the hat for us.

Poor tackling.
Penalties and turnovers.
Lack of consistent execution.
