There is a pecking order in decent society and college football.
1. University of a named State, the capstone where the doctors, lawyers, illuminate, are educated and where they send their scions.
2. Schools with "State" or "Tech" in their name, second thoughts, younger brothers,where people who run filling stations and manage Popeyes fried chicken franchises go to school and send their unfortunate progeny to be semi-educated.
3. Schools with A&M or Polytechnic (much worse than "Tech") in their name, where farmers, sharecroppers, rural itenerents and other backwoods types attend (and send their limited and malformed spawn) to learn about corn row erosion, fertilyzer, crop rotation etc.
4. Sloppy seconds State-Tech-A&M schools who COPY the "traditions" of State-Tech-A&M schools hoping others will think they are on the same level as those State-Tech-A&M schools. The riff-raff that attends such a school is ....lets be nice ... a mixed bag.
Of course there are outliers who may pretend to be tier one but upon further review are tier three from having A&M AND State stuck in their name, or from having a student body made up of hillbillies, or the home of shite-swastika protesters who define the purpose of the institution, etc. At least none of them copied from a tier three.
