That's strange. eagles have very good sight. I wonder what happened. I'm glad he is ok, though.
One of the comments at the bottom of the article said he was going after something on the post. When I went back and watched, you do see something white fly off to the right of the shot. Maybe it was a big bug or something., because it does look like he comes at the post talons first.

We were sitting in section 13, so we were a little bit behind and to the side of the goal post, and from that angle looked like he clipped the post with the middle joint of the left wing.

Well, I'm glad he is ok. The Eagle flying is a great tradition.

Maybe the eagle needs glasses. Didn't he crash into the press box last year?

Gus must have drawn that route up for the eagle.

Seriously though, glad he is okay.

Different eagle. Nova (golden eagle) hit the goalpost. Spirit (bald eagle) hit the suite glass. Speculation there is he saw his reflection and thought it was a rival bird and attacked it.

I have heard the eagle handlers say that the birds are like teenagers that have just gotten their drivers licenses. Nova wants to get where he is going, and get there as fast as he can. Spirit wants to go out and look around, see what he can see.

Spirit flew for Military Appreciation Day two weeks ago against Vandy and caught an updraft and spent a good 45 - 60 seconds just going back and forth right along the first few rows of the east upper deck. I have also seen him fly out of the stadium behind the old scoreboard and then come back in right over top of the student section.

Honoring the "doink" kickers?

I still say and believe that the eagle flying at JH pregame is the coolest of all college football.

Yep. Maybe the lights were a factor.

It's the only Auburn thing that will hit the goal post. Daniel Carlson is fricking money.
