I want to make fun of them because it's Iron Bowl week, but the loss to NMSU has sent them all into "football isn't really that important, Auburn people just love Auburn" mode. Typical, but no fun.

If a tree says "frick Auburn" in the middle of the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

This is the lowest Auburn has been in our history. Embarrassing, unacceptable, wonder when or if we ever get better.

Has any other SEC school had such a humiliating loss? (LaMo was a close game, this was an arse whooping)

Yes, I am ready for Basketball.

Then why fire Bowden, Tubberville, Chizik, Malzahn and Harsin? Why try to ruin Harsin's personal life?

I think it's just a few sanctimonious boomers spouting this tripe who in reality worship football...

You have to have faith in the Reverend Freeze. He's got a good track record of building winning programs. I believe he will eventually win at Auburn too.

Ugh, I can't believe I'm comforting an Auburn fan on this of all weeks. I'm going to take a shower now.

We are terrible, but this was needed. We still had fans thinking this was a 10 win team and upset about 7 wins. People have been screaming about red flags since the back end of the Gus years and a large part of our group was just ignoring it. Freeze is doing a very good job. 8 wins with this group and recruiting well was the upper limit.

I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet. Always a few set backs in a coach's first season. And Harsin left the cupboard bear. Recruiting under Harsin was embarrassingly bad and it's showing. Hell, in his first season at UGA, Kirby won two more games than Auburn currently has and he had far more talent to work with than Freeze does.

I have a feeling that loss will be erased in the minds of Auburn fans next Saturday

If it makes you feel better, that NMS team would likely kill the 2007 LaMo team.

My local golf club has a lost and found box where folks drop things found out on the course.

There’s been a full set of Auburn club head covers in there since September.

To go from a 48-10 win over an SEC opponent on the road to getting beat 31-10 vs New Mex St in Auburn is insanity.

Shocking game. Perfect storm.

They’ll play Bama tough but this group should have no business making it a close game in the 4th qtr.

I agree. As a Tide fan, I'd love for him to be coaching somewhere else. Let him alone (but keep an eye on him ), and he'll have Auburn back in the conversation.

Its an embarrassing loss, a low point, but its a outlier from the trend of positive results from Freeze.

The loss ultimately doesn't matter unless Freeze and the staff lets the team quit and give up on the season after this, then yes we are in trouble. Its all about how the team and program respond.

This was a coaching loss all the way around. A decent coaching staff is going to take the blame externally and internally then coach the players through it and come out better because of it.

I'd argue 3-9 was the low point since we hadn't had a record that bad since the 50s. The next season we played for a title.

No way is this worse than 2012 when the team quit on its 4th year head coach and went 0-8 in the SEC losing by an average margin of almost 24ppg.

Harsin did his best to ruin our football program.

You sure he wasn't just a bad football coach?

I didn't realize they let 10 year olds post here.

Good Lord man, pull it together. This is a tiny blip compared to the atrocity that was 2012.

lol the thing is this is actually the trend for Hugh Freeze coached teams.
This fricker lost to Memphis after beating #1 Bama then lost to Arkansas on a 4th and 25 (same season) when a stop would have sent ole miss to Atlanta.

Good luck

It was a shitty game but I’m still encouraged and excited about the future. All I can do as a fan is laugh about it.
I hope Saturday is at least somewhat competitive and that we can get a few good weeks of practice before our bowl game to start preparing for next year.
