But we've been over this time and time again.
quote:
A year later, Walter Riggs left the Auburn program in the hands of Heisman and headed off to Clemson, South Carolina to start up a football program there. Clemson had no mascot, no school colors, nothing. So Riggs just took off with what he knew from Auburn, branding them the Clemson Tigers. In fact, he was low on money—probably used it on Heisman’s salary—so when he left the Plains, he brought some of Auburn’s old practice uniforms with him, which happened to have orange and navy jerseys. Because the jerseys had gone through a few washboard scrubbings, they were quite faded—the navy worse than the orange. So Riggs made the school’s predominant color orange and the faded condition of the navy became the purplish color, officially known today as Regalia.

lol how does Auburn , a flat city in the plains, look lke a college nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge next to a pristine lake.
alabama and auburn seem like exact same kind of school, both in small cities in flat areas.

So Auburn basically started Clemson football and then Alabama coaches have run it ever since.
You guys are like, I don't know, what's lower than a little brother? A bastard brother?

Sad thing is, he's sitting there thinking that he is truly lowering the boom with what he's posting. See what we deal with 24/7/365?

that was like back in 1888, lol
college football was a club sport back then, not even on tv bc there was no tv.
i think it is safe to say nobody confuses Clem's uniform with Auburn. Syracuse maybe, not Auburn.
note that coach left Auburn to come to Clemson, that was a step up even back then. there was not even a lake in Clem at that time and he still came. lol

Well, for one, there is a reason people call it :
Auburn WITH A LAKE
WITH A LAKE implies that Clemson and Auburn are very similar except that Clemson HAS A LAKE which Auburn does not have.
Do you understand what I just said?

that line was made up by an Auburn fan. lol pretty obvius.
then we say "AUburn is Clemson without a lake and mountains nearby. I'd rather have a lake and mountains nearby"
but i don't lke saying that b/c I don't htink Auburn and Clemson are alike any more than any other large public. I think our campus looks more like UVA's than any other, and the academic aspsect is most similar to NC State.

No doubt in my mind that:
A. He believes you just agreed with him.
and
B. He believes you were paying him a compliment.
ETA: Damn, Lannister. I'd hoped you would take advantage of your time away to learn English but I can clearly see that did not happen.

Auburn is Alabama without a river. If that is good or bad is based on your views of that river. lol
Alabama is Auburn without the toilet paper or dead trees.

Sucks that these threads always diverge into some Clemson-Auburn history pissing match.
As for the game, I imagine it'll be a little closer than expected. Dabo's teams have never started overly hot, and defenses usually have the edge early so with our losses on D and Auburn's front seven I'd say it'll be close through the first half. In the end, something like 34-21 sounds about right. It'll be a frustrating game for Clemson fans, but the outcome will likely never be in doubt.
If we replayed it at season's end, it'd be a bloodbath.
