This is very true.

I'm very happy, but I can't say I'm any happier than I was in medical school (negative income) or residency (piddling income). I know a lot of miserable doctors making bank and a lot of happy nurses/technologists/etc who make a fraction of their income.

If you feel the need to brag about your income, you're probably not that happy.

Yeah. He clearly has no idea what he's talking about. The 96% sounds more like our overall hire rate out of accounting. No way that's the big 4 number.

The OP is obviously trolling. Auburn grads make more than Bama grads, our degrees tend to be in areas that pay more. Both are excellent schools and do amazingly well considering the state we are in.

Big 4 does not hire 96%, many do not want the Big 4 experience.

Alabama has a ton of communications, education and social work type graduates that do work somebody has to do and knowingly do it for less money.

So, that's going to drag down any overall salary number. I'm fine with that.

Again, if you want to know the true difference compare within industry.

Not to mention that any such study that doesn't factor location (i.e. Cost of Living) is worthless.

The same job that I have in the Shenandoah Valley that pays 80k a year will net me 160-200 in NYC, though my standard of living would be the same because of COL.

There is an oversupply of lawyers. You'd be surprised how many lawyers settle for mid-level administrative jobs in State government.

That list is pointless because it all depends on what you major in and what school carries what degree programs. Auburn sure as hell isn't one of the better academic schools in the SEC. Not even close.

So, I take it this doesn't include Bama's law school?

Wonder how much Jeff Sessions will make this year?

It is February.

We are still fallowing the land.

April will be here soon enough though.

Have patience.

You need a side-job...like Engineering or something.

I heard it pays pretty well.

Then why do we make more money?

If UGA is better academically...then why isn't the University of Georgia included in the Ivy League? You've had since 1636.

Guess Auburn does pretty well for a "farm" school.

UGA needs to get over themselves.

Every engineer in Huntsville, from the state, are Auburn grads. Alabama is considered a very poor engineering school even within the region. Every Vet in the state are Auburn grads. Almost every pharmacist in the state are AU/Samford grads. Alabama grads usually end up in sales of some sort. Nothing unique about what the Capstone offers at an undergrad level. Very recognizable grad school in law but still has moderate competition on the state level. AU, Samford, UAB grads tend to make more $ than Alabama grads.

Huge difference! In my early 20s I might could have understood where that question came from. After this year with the o&g industry tanking I felt the full affect of going from 120k to probably only making 70k this year.
