Well that's simply not true. Our first game was in February of 92, techs was November.

Auburn's first game was against UGA. Why would anybody want to play Tech? We have plenty of exposure in the ATL market already

Agree, with Auburn being in north Georgia, we really need more exposure in Lower Alabama and Florida

I guess I could be wrong about that, but they are definitely #2 in opponents played in Auburn's history. We used to play every single year. And it was a great series for a while. Like I said, it's better than rescheduling Clemson every other year continuously. I think our AD would only be happier if we could play those guys 2 or 3 times a year.

Auburn v Clemson 2016 should be good game

Not unless Chad Morris is still there. Dumbo is an idiot, and Malzahn would prison rape him without Gus' disciple.

but that doesn't mean it's older than UGA/AU. I mean, it's the deep south's oldest rivalry for a reason..

Are there any old rivalries that you guys would like to renew?

LSU/ND.

Played home and away series at least once per decade in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Series record currently tied at 5-5, LSU 2-0 vs ND in bowl games.

Georgia went to Colorado and either Arizona or Arizona State and a lot of Dawg fans said they would never go back. Maybe you can ask them, but it seemed like it wasn't worth the trip. I would love any of the California schools though. Doesn't matter which one. Home and home, of course.

For personal reasons I don't want this to happen, though objectively I think it would be a nice tribute to the past and would definitely be a good thing for GT. Tech's OOC scheduling is nothing short of atrocious as long as I can remember, so I wish they'd punch a little higher even if it means another L.

But the real reason I am posting in this thread is because I want to voice that I too am sick and fricking tired of playing Clemson. I wish Auburn would think a little more outside of the box scheduling wise. I think both LSU & Bama do a much better job at this than we do and I respect them for that. Kansas State was a nice venture that way, but I'd like to go even further out of our comfort zone to put us in the national spotlight against some tier 1 opponents that people would like to see.

well that's not true at all. I went to all 3 games at tempe, boulder, and stillwater and to a person everyone I know that went had a blast and loved every minute of it. The thing about that kind of trip is you dont' want to do it every year, but in a unique one time situation it's certainly worth it.

Yeah, sure it would be nice to drive down the street, tailgate on 5th street bridge, pay $5 and watch an Auburn game in one of the oldest stadiums in the country. However, Id rather go to somewhere new and nice, rather than my backyard

Fair enough, but I heard many UGA fans stating that they would never go back. They said the fans were rude and the venues were boring. But if you went there and had a good time, then good for you. You guys got beat in both places too, didn't you? Not talking crap, but I honestly don't remember.
