Robertson remains charged with interference with government property, a felony, and the case continues to be investigated, pending a grand jury review.

quote:

The felony charges stem from an incident in early February in which Robertson’s 2017 Dodge Charger was “booted” by UGA Parking officials for illegally parking in an East Campus deck. Robertson is accused of removing the booted tire from his vehicle and then having the wheel clamp removed at a location in Henry County.

Really? A grand jury review for removing a piece of metal from a wheel? Is that what we're worried about?

I wonder why the ajc waited until now to report on this?

However, that case was dismissed in May after Robertson paid restitution for the $725 piece of equipment, according to court records.

It was a felony charge. A grand jury review of it is a protection guaranteed by the constitution. He could waive it but that would be really stupid of him because there is a reasonable chance the GJ would not return a felony indictment over a parking boot.

Because that “piece of metal” that was removed was essentially in service of busting his car out of impoundment by the state. I don’t get why this is hard to understand. You may not like it but the state will always zealously defend their enforcement mechanisms otherwise they lose their teeth.

He’d be fine at LSU as long as he’s weed free.

Mark Richt has lost control of the judicial review process

This makes no sense. He paid restitution for stealing the boot in Clark county. It is ridiculous that he would get charged with a felony because he cut the boot off in Henry county. He could have thrown it away on campus and it would have been just the theft charge.

This is the problem with the law enforcement system, stacking charges.

Chip Towers is such a low rent POS “journalist”. Shitting on a college student who did essentially everything the right way on his way out the door over a “felony” that any rational person thinks is ridiculous. Wish UGA would bar him from any football press conferences moving forward.

Was it murder, manslaughter, or a parking ticket?

Gotta say, I was expecting a little more than removing a boot from his car.
