Like multiple other threads have discussed, WE COULD DO A NINE GAME SEC SCHEDULE

Alabama/Saban were the ONLY program that voted for it....the vote was 13-1 against a 9 game schedule. What makes you think SEC Presidents and AD's would be willing to side with Alabama and get this thing DONE?

Saban and Bama proposed a simple solution this that would accommodate AU's desire to be in the East and protect rivalry games. Yet AU refused to support it.

Why?

.....and why is everyone on team Auburn bitching about this after voting no last year?

Not one Aub can answer this simple question. In fact, why the hell won't the media ask Jay Jacobs or Pat Dye why Auburn voted to keep the 8 game SEC schedule.

It's really incredible if you think about it. They voted down our proposal which would have given them everything they wanted....then a year later start beating the drum and bitching publically about this issue that was addressed just last year and they refused to support! They throw this out there with no solution nevermind how much it screws up the rest of the conference.

WTF are we supposed to think?

I think I'm safe in assuming the vast majority of auburn fans would want a 9 game schedule. How could we have voted..? Hell, what fan base in the sec would want 9 games?

Edit: well shite I meant who wouldn't want to play 9 games

Not really. It's the truth. Most AU fans I know feel the same way.

Like petulant/rebellious children who once they've grown up realize Daddy was right about most stuff. Saban is/was so far ahead of the game when he threw out the 9 game conference schedule years ago that it's funny as hell to see the kids jump on board today and admit Daddy was right.

Doesn't matter what you say the fans want, your yellow AD won't agree to it. That's Auburn's position.

Hopefully he'll change his mind. It would be better regardless of wether we move to the East or not

Because Auburn wants to now and they like us better. We're like the spiritual leaders of this conference, all the others look to us for guidence.

There isn't a single creditable source of info that supports your statement. Bama wanted a 9 game schedule, but there was never any mention about it being tied to Auburn moving east. Conveniently, Saban put out his hope for this knowing it will literally never happen. MSU, Ole Miss, Vandy, UK, Mizzou, USCe, will never, ever vote in favor of it.

It was sort of like the posturing Auburn is doing now. Auburn will never move to the east because there are way more than 4 teams who will oppose the move. Auburn is posturing for something else they want, my guess is it will be changing the Amen Corner games back to home and away.
