Me and a group of my LSU buds take an annual RV trip from Dallas to an away game every year and this upcoming season we've decided to make the trip to Auburn AL.

Looking online it seems that there is first come first serve RV parking on campus at the Hayfields on Donahue(which would be great it seems??)? I would imagine this fills up pretty quick. Are there any other good options? Should we avoid any RV parks? We would obviously like to stay as close to the action(bars, nightlife, tailgating) as possible.

Any other advice on places to go is appreciated as well.

We went to Miss State last year and it was unreal how they constantly talked about how nice Auburn fans are...so, definitely looking forward to the hospitality when we roll in Thanks in advance.

Auburn fans have always been a class act. I've been to JH 3 different times and never once had an issue.

How did you come to decide on the Auburn game?

Honestly, every game I've been to in the state of Alabama has been a lot of fun. The Aubies and Gumps who can afford to go to games are generally pretty cool.

Actually, the only SEC fans I've encountered while at away games who weren't hospitable were in Florida. Screw you, Gainesville.

A good bit of people used to show up on Wednesday with their RVs when I was in school (2006-2013). Not sure how it is now. Last time I was there it seemed like they took away some of the RV parking on one section of that area, but the main area seemed okay still.

The RV spot is about a mile or less from downtown, a pretty good walk through campus to get there.

Hope you guys enjoy your visit.

Those are good spots but for LSU will be full on thursday. There is a lot at the old colliseium that you can buy a parking pass for friday and saturday nights.

Not really any other good options if you want to be close. I have not personally heard of a bad experience at any of the satellite RV parks but most of my folks have students sit on them a spot in the hayfields.

try to get to whatever they call the event where the eagle gets escorted into the stadium in its own car with a police escort. Good times.

If all else fails, there's a small park used for gameday parking across from Auburn Junior High School on Samford Ave. I've seen an RV or two there before, but you might want to call ahead of time to see what the rates are and who you should pay in order to avoid getting towed.

It's a 20 minute walk to the stadium and about the same to Toomer's (and the downtown area).

There is RV parking in Chewacala and down HWY 14, but those aren't walkable. Probably looking at lots of traffic going into town on a gameday.

They fill up pretty fast, but there are two pretty much right by each other there, so you should probably be able to get a spot in the bigger lot. Other than that, Jamal had a good option about buying a spot at the old Coliseum parking lot. It is right next to the stadium and Tiger Walk. Great location, short walk to downtown. Other than that, Auburn is small enough that even on gamedays, an Uber ride isn't terrible.

As far as tailgating is concerned, as long as you aren't an idiot, you'll have a good time. When you first get there, meet your neighbors, share a drink or seven, have some laughs, then start the shite talking and insulting each other's mothers.

As far as places to check out, I'd definitely eat at one of these three in this order:

1. Acre
2. Amsterdam
3. Hamiltons

For late night options, stop by Little Italy, it is in the middle of downtown.

As far as bars go, what type of nightlife are you looking for?

Is that close the Red Barn on the corner of Samford/Donahue?

Yes, it's at that next intersection if you're going away from the stadium.

I realize this probably includes grad school but this made me laugh on first glance.

Best bang for your buck in terms of ritzy restaurants.

I've noticed that Auburn fans are pretty nice for the most part, but I'll be damned if they aren't the snobbiest group of idiots I've ever run across.

My cousin (or wife if you're a serial flame artist) goes to Auburn and she definitely is a total snob. Probably has slobbed some snobby knobs too.

Come the frick on down!

You will not have a bad time. We understand that you guys love LSU and are passionate about your football team just as much as we do about our University and football team, even though we are different.

Good times will be had, I assure you. If you have kids, no worries (don't know why, but this question is always brought up when traveling to other venues). It is a really respectable place, win or lose.

Looking forward to seeing you guys on The Plains!

Oh just you're typical bar to get wasted with nice tail to look at, (which I'm sure they're will be plenty). We're in our late 20's early 30's and definitely like to party, especially while exploring new places. Any good recommendations of places where we won't feel too out of place(old).

Just the next one on the list. We've RVed in the last 3 years to OM, Ark, and MSU. Definitely looking forward to Auburn

No, Uber in Auburn anymore thanks to the taxi companies lobby.

This is key.

1. Acre
Good but small and you MUST get a reservation, like today for that weekend. Be prepared to drop $50/ head.
2. Amsterdam
Slightly larger but still need a reservation, slightly cheaper.
3. Hamiltons
I'm not a fan but it is usually packed.

Other high end dining options in Auburn proper are The Depot, a seafood restaurant, pricey ($50/head) but absolutely delicious. The Hound is $30/ head and owned by the same folks as the Depot, good classic american food.

For lower priced food. There is my favorite meat and three, The Corner Grill. It is inside a gas station but is delicious. Get the meatloaf and cornbread. Mike and Eds BBQ is my favorite in town. Go to Toomer's drugstore at the corner of College and Magnolia (where we will roll the new oak trees after we whip that swamp kitten arse) and get a lemonade.

This, or anytime the pizza is good and they have decent priced pitchers.

You will want to go to either 17-16 or Skybar. I'll be at 17, but all of the slutty girls will be at sky.

Do not drink and drive when you are here. You will get arrested and the judge in Opelika will throw the book at you. On several occasions when an out of towner gets a first time dui here he has made them either do jail time or come back to Lee country to do community service. Cabs are $10 pretty much anywhere.
