I plan to take the family to the UA/AU game this year. Never been to a game there. I'm gonna make reservations soon. Where would you stay, and what would my 7 and 9 yr old boys have fun doing on gameday?

I had always said that LSU and Ole Miss had the best game day atmosphere, but after attending the Bama game last year, they top my list.

Just keep them away from the Harveys.

They would enjoy the Tiger Walk I'm sure, also make sure you're in the stadium early enough to let them see the eagle fly.

I doubt you can handle my redheaded wife. It takes a special man to do that.

Trying to stay at a hotel in Auburn has never been my approach. Much easier to stay in Montgomery and make the 45 minute drive in from there.

Does Auburn have many hotels? I've never been. I would love to go some time though. I have no idea why.

Not many, and they're probably already booked. You're best option is the Mytlene exit in Montgomery. Of the hotels in Montgomery, it's the closest to AU and the nicest area. There are 3 or 4 right there in a group and all are fairly new

The Iron Bowl is a ton of fun. You'll love Tuscaloosa.

Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery is new/nice. Lots of bars/restaurants in the downtown area. 5 minutes from I85.

If you want to truly enjoy the gameday atmosphere, you have to stay in Auburn. Don't do it half arse and stay in Montgomery or Columbus or any of that. Searching the hotel websites might show no vacancies, however, I think this site might help:

There are rooms available in Auburn for the Arky weekend. Go to the website above and click on the download.
It explains it here:

The majority of our local hoteliers close out electronic inventory during football season. This means that you will not find rooms available on traditional sites such as Travelocity, Orbitz, or even individual hotel sites such as Hilton.com. We have manually inventoried available rooms and provided the information for you as a download. This information will be updated frequently leading up to and throughout football season, and sometimes as often as daily for those games that are in high demand. For questions or further assistance in securing football accommodations, please call us at 334.887.8747.

Enjoy your trip!

I was gonna remind you she was from Arky, but then I remembered you were an Auburn fan so actually Arky women > what you're used to.

I would recommend scenic Victory Drive in beautiful Columbus GA.

Only 30 minutes from Auburn and some interesting clubs to take the family to.

I could fire back with a tasteless comment, but I won't.
