In more relevant and recent history, Ole Miss was paying Freeze $5M annually. Malzahn was making $6.8M....we would match that.
And if Auburn wants to pay Kiffin’s buyout AND significantly increase his annual comp, I’m not sure that is representative of his actual market value....so who really wins and loses in that situation? We scoop $13M on the buyout and Auburn overpays for a coach - good for them, sounds about right

Well, yeah...I said as much in my above post. And to do that you’d have to pay an amount of money that isn’t indicative of Kiffin’s value at the moment in my opinion. But props to Kiffin if he can capitalize on Auburn’s desperation to inflate his worth - I certainly wouldn’t fault him for taking advantage of the Auburn admin’s incompetence
