I would have preferred to play Alabama that year. I was aware of our terrible history with the triple option/read option and was honestly devastated when the kick six happened.

Auburn was only up on Missouri by 3 in the 4th quarter? I didn't watch that game, but man that is pathetic.

That season everything went right for us until the second half of the championship, then everything came crashing down. I'd like to forget that game and erase it out of my memory.

So would Gus. That game gave him PTSD, and he has never been the same since.

Auburn gained most of their yards on us when we ran the 4-3 defense. It didn't matter what front we gave them, we still got gashed

Stevkel was clueless.

You guys stacked 5 on the line for most of the game, there was no stopping us. I think gus was just allowing our D to bend and hope for a few stops, but he didnt care if you scored because we would just run it down your throat again

It's amazing because the offense wasn't the problem , even though Marshall did miss a couple of passes. It was solely on the back of special teams and defense. He definitely made the moves to fix the defense, but in the process lost his offense.

Guilty as charged. Nick Marshall was still amazingly frustrating to watch. Suck, suck, suck, heroics....

45-42 4th QTR

I was at this game and it never really felt like it was this close. I just remember feeling like Auburn was in full control of the game. Probably due to the amount of yards Tre Mason put up on the ground.

had Missouri won, based on BCS standings, they would have played for the national title.

had Michigan State won, since Mizzou was already higher, they most likely would have received the nod.

But an interesting debate would have been had both Sparty and Mizzou won, who would have had the better resume to go.

Sparty's only loss was by 4 to Notre Dame. Sparty defeated previously undefeated Ohio State for the Big Ten title.

Missouri had an OT loss to South Carolina, defeated Auburn which just got done defeating previously undefeated Alabama.

I know. Bunch of what ifs had Missouri won.

I thought they were way down the line.

I think the Tigers would have gone. They were #5, and MSU was #10. It was much harder to jump ahead of teams back then as it is now with the committee.

People like to joke that Mizzou took advantage of a down East, but in 2013 and 2014 Mizzou was 4-2 against the West, it's only losses coming in the SECCG. I thought the Alabama game was never close, I had hope about Auburn into the 4th quarter.

I think they would've. Missouri was #5 and lost to #8 South Carolina. Michigan State was #10 and lost to unranked Notre Dame.

Three teams(besides FSU) ahead of them were Bama(not in SECCG), Auburn(assume they beat them) and OSU(They lost). They would have definitely been in the game

Unless Alabama would've snuck in again.
