Did I miss where Louisville was ranked? Bottom line is Auburn played average against an average team. It was the first game so who knows how the team will go from here, but it is all we have to go on and based on that one game Auburn looked nothing like a playoff team many experts are predicting Auburn to be. Bama showed you how to come out and play with mistakes but still handily take care of business against a top 20 team.

Oh and Louisville cut the score to 31-17 with nearly 6.5 minutes left in the game and cut it to 7 with 3 full minutes left, so the OP just reinvented history to support his narrative.

Did you also miss where preseason rankings are made with no actual evidence?

Your assumptions are not facts.

They are "others receiving votes", so just outside of the top 25...aka interchangeable with Wisconsin (or something in that neighborhood)

Preseason rankings mean jack shite.

Auburn also didn't look like a National Championship caliber team at the beginning of 2010 and 2013, either, while they did at the beginning of 2014. So what's your point?

Auburn's cleats were almost as loud as Coach Boom's screams when the Cards were rolling in the 4th !

I'm convinced that the brightness of their shoes and socks was preventing Jeremy from concentrating on who to throw the ball to. Hell, they damn near gave me a seizure.

I'd rather them play barefoot then wear those again.

I didn't get to see the 2nd half of the game. First half, I thought the D front for Au looked really good.

But... please... get rid of those shoes and leggings. They were awful.

Seizure is the word you're looking for.

Except Auburn was winning the Iron Bowl the entire game up until the 4th quarter. I don't think Louisville led the game yesterday for one second

That is patently dishonest and completely false.

Alabama was leading AU the entire 1st quarter, and took the lead (albeit briefly) in the second.

You had the lead, but were outscored in the third and obliterated in the fourth.

Wisconsin was 20 so no they are not interchangeable. Either way Bama kicked arse while auburn struggled to hold on. Who knows what it will mean 10 weeks from now, but week one is Bama 1 auburn 0.

its week one dumbass.

One thing is for sure, Auburn was winning 24-0 with terrible QB play. Shits gonna get real once JJ settles down you can count on that. Best DL in the SEC

The freshman QB kid was legit.

Yep. That kid was their entire O in the second half. Extremely athletic. He got chunk yards on plays where receivers were covered and he just took off on the run. His running ability reminded me of Nick.....except he may be quicker than Nick.

Says who? Sports writers? Coaches who don't watch the games?

Auburn looked average last night but everyone who watched Wisky can agree they will struggle to win 7 games this year.

Next week they'll both be ranked around #25...I'd say they're interchangeable. Bama DID look better than Auburn though so there's that. I think, had JJ not had what will be his worst game ever, Auburn would have had a similar result...but again, I didn't see the kind of dominance at the LOS with AU as I did with Bama....but, game one.

Auburn did fine. They just aren't the world beaters everyone thought. They will
Improve - but so will everyone else.

Alabama on the other hand, looked very, very talented.

Except Kirk and fowler who both said Wisconsin would still be favored in every other game this year and are still the favorite to represent their division in the big 10 championship. But hey you are much more in tune to the college football landscape.
