Duke Williams is about to rock the SEC's world.

of all the highly talented wide receivers that have come through the SEC recently, where does he rank?

i'd say the top group is AJ Green, Julio, Alshon, Amari, Mike Evans. (feels like im missing someone)

Is he going to be better than any of those guys?

Yeah, having to move your RB to CB shows how that talent is coming together.

We have far more defensive line talent and a MUCH better defensive coordinator than LSU at least.

Can't say anything about Chavis/Steele yet but I'd say A&M and LSU are about equal for DL. Obviously Garrett helps the case for A&M but LSU has Coach O to unlock the potential of the 4/5 star DL guys we have.

Speedy Noil. You probably saw that back of his jersey in Jordan Hare this season when he was dominating y'all.
With his one catch for 16 yards? That's dominating?

I'm glad you're keeping up. Reports on Justin Evans are extremely positive as well.

Well every other person with half a brain knows who is better.

That's a pretty good YPC average if you ask me.

You're missing Jordan Matthews at least.

Duke might have better hands than anybody on that list.

At this point I would take him over Alshon, Matthews, and Evans.

Physically he's more gifted than Amari but Amari set himself apart by how refined he was with things like route running

Only the best.

ETA:

I was going to try to watch the Aggies spring game to see how their defense has progressed but then I remembered that you guys blew up half of your fricking stadium in an attempt to make it adequate.

"Dominated"

One catch
Zero TDs
Less than 20 total yards in the game

Because the things that set him apart as a top WR are physical. His hands, his vertical, his body control, his strength, he's a very physical runner with the ball. He has a natural ability to track the ball down and a huge catch radius. All those are natural God given abilities.

Amari is still a great athlete. Great vertical, good speed. But what sets him apart is hes the best at the technical things like route running. He's a lot like Jerry Rice in that regard.

Amari is still a beast, just saying that Duke is more naturally gifted.

Amari Cooper doesn't have a great vertical jump, FWIW.

I'm not sure where he ranks among those guys yet, but he still has another year left to leave his mark. IMO, if he stays healthy and out of trouble, he has a chance to be mentioned among them.

Duke is a natural but he does not have the speed of Amari Cooper.

he doesnt. but he does have great speed. he was reported to have raced and beat all those track guys we have on the roster. widely regarded as fastest player on the team last year and the year before.

Yeah that's why I didn't list speed as one of Duke's natural God given physical advantages. But speed alone doesn't push him over the edge when you consider all the rest of Duke's physical gifts.
Duke is never going to be the fastest guy on the field but he should gain a step with the weight he's lost this offseason

I agree. Duke Williams doesn't have the speed of Amari Cooper, and I'd put him in the 4.5 range more than likely. That being said, his hands are awesome, he has a great vertical, and he's a really physical wide receiver. He is every bit of 6'2, 230 pounds.
