do ya'll even basketball?

Hopefully Auburn can start competing. You can't compare Auburn to Arkansas yet though, so keep your chubs strapped down until then.

Lol. Kiffin as an assistant and Pearl as a Savior isn't really much of a comparison. Link me to Kiffin losing his job for cheating and getting show-caused. Pearl is a fine coach. Hope he's learned his lesson.

He was never going to be allowed back at Tennessee regardless. People need to understand that.

Thank someone who gets it with Cheek still the Chancellor they weren't going to hire Pearl back even if we got rid of CCM.

Since this thread was bumped... it wasn't just Cheek or the BOT. If anything they were less of a problem than the fact that Pearl's daughter got caught up in the Federal Investigation into Pilot. She is (or already has) given testimony against Pilot and the Jimmy Haslam as a part of a plea deal.

It went largely unreported in the sports news and was barely a footnote in the Pilot scandal news but you can believe that having your daughter testifying against the Governor's brother and family business is not exactly comfortable for UT and it gets worse when you consider how much the Haslam's have been donating to UT for goodwill/press these last few years. Governor Haslam is technically the head of UT and the entire UT system (above all on campus) due to being governor, although the governor doesn't really manage anything day to day and often doesn't manage anything at all and it's more a meaningless title 99 percent of the time, a governor can cause the university a LOT of pain if they choose to.

THAT more than anything else is why he couldn't be hired back. It was just too many things at once.

At any rate, it will be interesting to see how Pearl does at Auburn. I don't expect much this year but his team should be a lot of fun to watch.
