The Tigers are averaging 10.7 negative plays per game (not counting penalties) to rank dead last in the country at 128th. Interestingly, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn believes the Tigers’ offensive line “did a solid job” despite giving up a season-high 13 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, including four sacks.

“They were mesh charging from a defensive end standpoint, which they've never done before,” Malzahn said. “We didn't do a good enough job from an offensive coaching standpoint adjusting quick enough.”

13 TFL and 4 sacks but the O-line "did a solid job"?

"First-year offensive line coach Herb Hand, who helps Malzahn call plays from the press box on game days, has a history of coaching offensive lines with blocking problems. Seven of his last eight offensive lines have given up so many negative plays, they ranked 105th or lower in seven of the last eight seasons."

Seriously...what on earth provoked Malzahn to hire this guy?

Gus is now trying to use football lingo to keep the heat off.

It doesn't matter what the hell the D is doing if you are going to let a guy like Myles Garrett run free b/c you are pulling guards from the opposite side to try and block him.

He liked the way Herb executed on the Food Network show "Chopped"?

I mean he really took his cooking skills to the next level, and Gus must have really like what he saw.
