That's what you were thinking right?
Especially since you tried to be all basketball and then 91-84 happened.
It must suck when your sport falls flat on its face then you try to use another sport because you think it will give you a one up on your big brother then it falls on its face too.
Don't worry Barner... there's always the equestrian arts in the Spring.

Mike Anderson has been at arkansas for 4 seasons. You're counting his last 3 seasons. This will be Johnny Jones' 4th season and will no doubt get more than 68 wins total.
Yes and Mike Anderson's total wins will go up as well. Taking the last three years, Mike Anderson has been the better coach. He also made it past the second round.

You're making this worse on yourself. Football is almost over. Avery is going to get run out by Pearl. Colorado was a different team in the first few games last year. They had a meltdown. And when was the last time Bama had a shooting performance like that?
I assume you're talking about Colorado's shooting performance? They shot 57% from the field. That's good but hardly record setting. Bama shot 60% against Illinois in their last win of the 2014-2015 season.
As far as the "making things worse on myself." I pointed out that Auburn had relatively close home loss against a team that was bad last year and Bama had a blowout road loss against a team that was good last year. In other words, nothing but absolute facts.
Both teams had a very bad day.
Now about football season being over. Another fact is that Bama's not going to be very good this season, many coaches are going to run Avery out this year, everyone on tRant is going to troll the shait out of us Bama fans because of it, and not one thing I post about Auburn losing at home to Colorado will change those dynamics and so be it. That's life on the rant. I know it is coming and when it does I'm not going to get all mad and butthurt about it - but I am going to enjoy this one chance to get a shot in before it all comes crashing down.

How can you fairly compare the 2 when Anderson has had an extra year to build the program?
Plus even counting one extra season for Anderson, they have the same postseason appearance count, and I'm pretty positive they're tied in head-to-head games against each other at the two schools.
I'm not exactly implying Jones is better than Anderson, but Arkansas fans sound like idiots when they're condescending towards Jones.
eta: Comparing their first three years at their programs, it's impossible for you to conclude that Anderson has been the better coach

Does Auburn have multiple championship level big 3 sports that I am missing? You guys are pretty much a .500 program in all of the big 3 aren't you?

I'm curious why he thinks he has some sort of point here. We are a vastly improved team, that got blown out by this opponent last year, are still missing 3 players who two are probably the best on the team, and played a pretty terrible game. It is the second game of the season. This is basketball, not football. Nobody's season is over after 2 games.

Auburn blew a lead but still hung around a team that gave Iowa State all they wanted. Our day wasn't near as bad as bama's. Plus we have the win over UAB. We are a much better team than last year.

Don't even really know why we are comparing the two. Alabama is going to be basically what Auburn was last year. Hell, I think Auburn lost by 30+ in their 2nd game of the year on the road to Colorado last year didn't they? Pretty much a mirror image of what we did today (except Dayton is probably a bit better than that Colorado team was, but that doesn't matter).

Bama lost. AU tards trolled. Don't get mad when you then lose and people laugh.

You act like its only Arkansas fans. I'm pretty sure that before Simmons the majority of people would agree that Anderson is the better coach. That being said landing Simmons is huge for LSU. We are going to find out this season if Jones is a really good coach. He has put together a great team this year. Good luck this season and stay healthy.

That's fair. I just use Mike Anderson as a measuring stick because he has the best resume of the coaches that have been hired during Jones' tenure.
Auburn fans hold on tight to the wins last year, but LSU had 4 guys playing 34 minutes a game, which was 3rd in the country. Simply put LSU didn't have any depth, and one of those 4 (Mickey) was injured all of conference play. You can't expect LSU to play with that high level gassed every week.
It's just dumb when fans on here want to believe LSU was the '96 bulls last season because of Mickey and Martin, with Mickey injured. All things considered he did a solid coaching job and got some big wins.
These season will be the tell-all, and maybe he is an idiot, but it's just old when you can't have a rational discussion about LSU basketball on here without Jones drivel. he's done a good job with the program.

Dude, you must be one the dumbest Aubs on here.
Are you too stupid to comprehend that I could careless about basketball but point out how your program sucks?
Its November genius, basketball is inconsequential unless your football team sucks (Auburn). Auburn basketball proved today that they suck at that as well.
Congratulations.

I always care about basketball in November, independent of how the football program is doing

Bama embarrassed themselves. I'm still very optimistic about this season, but it would have been a huge win. Most teams would have been blown out of the arena after the way Auburn shot the first half. Williams and Purifoy aren't even out there yet.

Auburn will put it to rest this year by competing for top 5 teams in the league. This team is much better than last year, without a couple of players that could play and contribute later in the year.
