Auburn, fire Gus and go offer Chip Kelly $6m/year

Gus isn't going to get it done. Chip Kelly is done in the NFL his offense doesn't work there and no owner is going to give him another chance. He's going to want to get back in college so where better than Auburn.
He would be the 2nd best coach in the SEC first day on the job.

Kelly's offense has serious flaws when playing against a physical defensive line. You saw it every game at Oregon where this was the case: Ohio State, Stanford, Auburn, LSU. If he's smart (not sure about that), he'll go back to the Pac-12 or the Big 12.

I don't think Chip wants to go to college. And if he returns to college, there's no way in hell he goes to Auburn. That's a place where you have to work your arse off to recruit well.

I seriously doubt Kelly would be interested in moving to Lee County, Alabama when he will be able to pick among plenty of other options.

That was with Oregon athletes, that were overwhelmed by auburn and Lsus Dlines. He'll be able to recruit southern athletes at Auburn, huge difference. Why is that so hard for some of you to understand?

If it is true, the man doesn't like recruiting. I have only heard that on this board mind you. Then going to Auburn is the last place he wants to go and go head to head against the best recruiter in the history of college football.It seems hard to believe a man who was as successful as he was at Oregon doesn't like to recruit.

First off, most of his great players came from Texas. Oregon at their pinnacle was able to recruit anywhere.
Second, you're thinking too rationally. Chip Kelly is not rational- we saw it in the NFL. He simply won't modify because he's one of those guys that "knows he's right".

Chip Kelly? He's 0-2 against the SEC with only 23 PPG against the SEC. His stuff would not work in the SEC.

His offense is a gimmick and would be stuffed by the speed of SEC defenses. He would not mesh well at all with the Auburn fanbase and definitely wouldn't be able to get along with our boosters.
And he hates recruiting. You cannot bring three star speedsters into a game against LSU or Alabama and expect to win.
Pass. I'll take Gus for one more year and then see if someone else is available.
