Do you think your program was better off with him at this point than what has happened in the last 2 years.

No regrets at all. Would have just delayed the rebuild longer.

It was time for him to go. He peaked his first season and after that, the offense was never the same. If anything, he got more time than he really deserved.
Having said that, Allen Greene was AD and his hiring process shut everyone else out and ended up with Bryan Harsin. Apparently based on a gut feeling and without doing the proper homework and background check on the guy. Some of his former Boise assistants and players were warning us pretty much as soon as he was hired.

No.
He was done.
Did not recruit OL and could not win on the road vs good teams.
I would rather change coaches every 4 years for the next 2 decades than watch that gum chewing first down belly run idiot for 1 more game.

No. It was beyond time for Gus to go. They just got the follow up hire extremely wrong.
Gus is on a losing streak to Navy at the moment...

no - next question

I like Gus. I am pulling for him. His program at Auburn had grown stale. His OL recruiting was abysmal. It was time for a change.

The only regret is the bad timing. We shouldve gotten rid of him a couple years earlier, but it was stalled by the true regret of his tenure; when that dumbass Steven Leath decided to take it upon himself to offer Gus that ridiculous extension in 2017 without any input from anyone else

Nope
As you can tell by my username, I am a Gus fan. I appreciate what he brought to Auburn as an OC and HC.
That said, as many here have stated, it was time for him to go. Things were very stale at the end. We needed some new blood and I think Gus needed a change also.

Under Gus, yes. You cannot get much worse than Harsin aside from a death penalty being leveled against the program. That’s how bad he was.
So its not a high bar to say sure, Auburn probably would have won a few more games and recruited better with Gus….but Gus’s problem was roster management, specifically Olinemen. He was also incredibly stubborn and just flat refused to adapt his offense.
The difference in the two is that most Auburn fans view Gus very fondly, as he represented the program well and for the most part, the players loved him and loved playing for him. He still has his home in Auburn, as do a lot of former coaches.
Harsin….no. Nothing united the fan base more than Harsin this season, and that man was toxic AF. He needs to GTFO and go back to Boise.

We're in this position because of him.

Nope. It was time for him to go. His hubris is why we’re in this mess. He couldn’t recruit O Linemen, tried to prove that he was still the smartest guy in the room by recruiting pro style QBs to run his zone read scheme, and never adapted to the rules changes or defensive adjustments teams made against us.
No, I appreciate what he did for us, but he wasn’t willing to adapt, so he needed to find a new place to be stubborn at.
