I never stated they were did I? I was speaking solely on the location of the Von Mises institute, which is in Auburn, leans Libertarian, and is what I would "most" closely align with politically.

ETA: I read Mises and Rothbard if that gives you any indication of my convictions.

Regardless of what they mean by "conservative", I still find it hard to believe that Auburn would be more conservative than a school like Pepperdine or BYU

Auburn University has the most conservative student body of any college in the nation, according to the Princeton Review’s annual rankings, released this Monday.

Well that's really something to be proud of imho.

aborting politics would be a nice change of pace.

This. And while we're aborting, let's turn back time and abort those that tote a party line without an ounce of self thought.

Yes, because low taxes, small government, and letting people live as they wish is such a terrible concept.

i hope you are not referring to texas. i pay more taxes here than in any of the other 5 states i've lived in when you consider all taxes. the price one pays here for not having a state income tax is pretty steep; didn't have to pay that in florida or tennessee (which also don't have a state income tax).

Society gets more "liberal" / progressive over time. Conservatism is a loose term that will be expired.

Very familiar with Pepperdine and Malibu. Would never introduce into conservatism conversation.

Pepperdine is nothing like the city it's located in.

I was referring to A&M actually but Texas is a low tax state, always listed in the bottom 10 tax wise and at or near the top of the large states. Much of the taxation is locally controlled as well, esp property taxes.

Texas also has about as small and limited of a State government as possible. The Leg only meets for 4 months every 2 years and all the legislators plus the Lt Governor make less than $8k per year.
