Eh, I dont have a problem with the comment. The rest of the country already has conference envy towards the SEC. This isnt gonna change national perception and its probably irrelevant since osu is gonna lose to msu this weekend anyway.

Nobody should have a problem with the comment, because Jacobs was being purposefully over the top.
I can understand that sports media is going to play it like he's being super serious here, but he wasn't. He shouldn't have said it because people will take it literally and act ridiculous, but FFS we need to lighten up.

Everyone who knows anything about college football knows he's right and football, right now, is America's sport.
You are totally off about the non-SEC. I'm a FSU fan. Been an FSU fan since I was 5 years old and I picked teams because of colors. I kind of want to play an SEC team. I say kind of because part of me wants what is almost a sure win over OSU rather than player a legitimate team. I feel bad for saying that, but it's true.
OSU beat one currently ranked team Wisconsin who did not beat a single currently ranked team. The Big Ten sucks. Everyone knows this. The SEC is legit. It's even stronger when you consider that the Bowl match ups favor the other conferences when they play the SEC especially when you consider the SEC always has 2 BCS teams and other conferences don't.
The only people who don't want the SEC in the championship game are sore losers from non-SEC conferences and people who know nothing of college football and should keep their mouth shut.

I want nothing more than an SEC team to play in Pasedena (preferably Mizzou)
I just don't like to see Ohio motivated with public taunts. I also think coaches will be less likely to bump a one loss team over an undefeated Ohio. Their votes go public next week. Will be interesting to see.

Jay Jacobs barely had his head above water this same exact time last year, he was fighting and lobbying for his job. Hell, even back in March your fanbase wanted him run out of town on a rail. Jacobs has more lives than my tabby cat.
