Is this Auburn team serious on D? How many wide open 3s are they going to give us?

Reminds me of watching a Darren Horn team watching Auburn. Atrocious on D and horrible shot selection and no flow on offense.

Glad you have observed the play of our laziest player, Danjel Purifoy

Purifoy.. Sucks so badly on D. And yes, Pearl's offense lacks flow and discipline. I'm hoping that gets better as the freshman mature, but I have my doubts. It's a haphazard mess most of the time.

You see them more than me..does Pearl punish people for horrible lazy D? Is he a good coach or does it depend on him getting talented players that don't need to play hard on D for him to succeed?

Serious question

So our 5* FR Mustapha Heron will get hot and drain contested NBA+ range 3s and falling down floaters on drives

Unfortunately he thinks that gives him a free pass to do it even when he isn't hot

Normally he takes them out but I have no idea wtf he is thinking right now.

So Danjel Purifoy is the main culprit here and he just came back from an ankle injury. I'm wondering if it is hard for him to follow the cutters inside then back out to the arc

It was like 25-21 a few minutes ago and now it's a blowout

Yeah, games like this make me appreciate Frank Martin so much more. He'd be playing walk ons right now if our starters gave up 25 wide open 3s.

Not saying it is ever truly close, but don't be surprised if Auburn roars back to within 5-6 out of nowhere.

We were down some 16 to UK then had the ball down ~5.

Trust me, that definitely wouldn't be surprising.

I have concluded Pearl relies on talent over fundamentals, just being more athletic than the other team. So you get little to no consistency whatsoever and it's a frustrating brand to watch if shots aren't falling. Furthermore, he seems to not have a good grasp on the use of TOs.

But hey, it's Auburn, and Pearl is probably the best Au could hope for, especially bringing in talent.

Good chance he has a better record than Martin did in year 3. And a good chance Pearl gets us to the tourney in year 4 when Martin will get yall there in year 5.

South Carolina fans should understand better than any other SEC fans the struggles and time it takes to build a trash program into a tourney program
