This was strictly a southern states championship game & few to little in the rest of the country gave a damn. AU is a SEC team & the rest of the country is tired of that & Fla.State is far from being America's team.

Not hard to understand at all. Two southeastern teams playing a sport that is very regional. Had it been Oregon and Colorado I doubt that I would have stayed up and watched.

And I doubt they are counting individuals who went to a sports bar or a friends house to watch the game.
Alabama and LSU went through this same BS after their title game...all the headlines about how it garnered such low ratings.

this applies for any major sporting event. the fact that it was a regional matchup hurt viewership.

I think UT-USC was the best because of the moment. USC was a team nobody could come close to beating, two Heisman winners, 3 peat and so on but UT stops their offense late in the 4th and then VY scores a TD on a 4th down. I hated USC and it was great to watch that moment unfold.
Best part is the 3 peat talk ended up being a no peat. LSU won the BCS and that's all that matters now, the second year was vacated, third year was a loss.
