The threat of Cam Newton running is what made the offense go. Teams were so focused on Cam that Dyer and McCaleb busted some long runs and receivers were left open. Without Newton in the backfield, teams will go back to playing AU straight up, resulting in an average offense. In fact, they may look alot like UF this past season.
I very much look forward to next year when teams defend Auburn like they have a QB that can't run.
Look forward to it a LOT.

No one's saying Trotter can't run, but he's no Cam Newton. How many big plays came because Newton wouldn't go down on first contact? Most SEC teams have a QB that can run to some degree, but that doesn't mean they have to game plan around them.

But we get better next year. . .most of the offense returns, and a better QB.
You guys go from Lambo to Yugo. We go from Pontiac to Cadillac.

It's not going to be ugly. It should actually be pretty decent, and with Malzahn returning I kind of expect a top tier offense in the SEC again.
We are good at RB, our WRs will be the best in the conference, Lutzenkirchen might be the best TE in the SEC, and Trotter is a good QB.
Offensive line will be a weak link, but they won't be terrible.

none of you seem to remember how we had a COMPLETELY different offense last year, and it still worked pretty well.
Malzahn will innovate like he always has and tweak his philosophy to fit his personel, like we did in 2009.
