Better than the Johnson experiment. At least he hasn't lost two straight to his instate rival.

Jesus Christ himself couldn't win at Auburn, they're barely over .500 all time.

I get basketball. Avery will be ok - actually I think he will have Alabama in as good of shape at the end of his year 2 as Pearl will with 3 years. I truly think in 4-5 years, it will be dramatically better.

And if you guys are really talking smack over the AU/UA matchup, get off it. It is bball - Teams match up differently. AU lost to Vandy by almost 20. They lost to South Carolina by almost 30. Yet Alabama beat both. It happens.

You're really gonna start this thread, then get bitchy when someone mentions that Auburn swept Alabama?

But anyway, it's working out fine. We're better than we've been in years and have the second youngest team in the country.

It's going to happen after every bad loss by either team.

Can we go ahead and get the one for the Alabama loss at Missouri out of the way now?

And losing at Ole Miss isn't even a bad loss. Sucks after leading by a bunch, but Ole Miss is a solid, Top 60 RPI team.

Yeah, the way we lost was bad. Not the team.

Y'all should be fine against Mizzou.

They beat Arkansas and Vandy by 20.

We could easily lose that game up there.

Remember when Auburn basketball was actually good in like 1999 when they had Porter?

I was hoping for a tournament appearance by year 3 but given this team is all freshman and some more good players coming in next year I'll give it one more year.

If we don't make the tournament next year it's a total failure. I won't say we need to fire Bruce because it's not like we could get anyone better but he will have definitely underachieved big time if he doesn't get us into the tournament next year.

I agree with this. I'll put Avery Johnson in the same boat, only one year behind. By the 3rd year, IMO, significant improvement should occur. I will say this though, I don't think you can use Barbee's last team as the base to gauge Pearl's success from. Hell, I could have come in and improved on what that clown did.

What sucks now for Auburn fans is that this 20 point halftime blown lead now actually hurts, whereas a few years ago, Tiger fans just chalked it up as another head shake and move on.
Very true.

Coaches at Alabama and Auburn are judged on the amount of success they have vs rivals. No wonder both programs suck.
