Here is what i take from this:
We are such a god damn shite show that even with all the calls against a bad auburn team we still get blown out. Our basketball teams mascot should be an abortion.

Auburn was called for eight fouls in the second half before South Carolina was whistled and charged with a foul with 14:40 remaining in the second half.
Maybe your fans should get angry at their players for fouling so much... not the innocent ref for doing his job?

Never understood why a ref has the power to throw out fans. As long as the fan is not on the court or throws something on the court, they should be able to act how they want.
The facility police or security shoul dbe soley in charge of outside of the court and the refs should be soley in charge of in side the court.

Every school in the SEC has that one official that seems to have it in for them. And sometimes they are spot on. If all the guy said was to blow your whistle then no way he should have been kicked out, asked to leave, etc.

Little story for ya, 'cause this is how a ref should interact with the fans.
Several years ago, when the Spurs were still playing in the Alamodome, I had a couple of seats on the baseline. So a friend and I were sitting under what was the Trailblazers basket, first row, on the floor.
The first quarter and a half was some of the worst basketball I ''d seen in a long time (since I'm an Ag, you can only imagine how bad it was.) Both teams were throwin' the ball away, missing almost everything they threw up and generally tripping over each other to screw up. The score at the end of the first quarter was something like 12-8.
Shortly into the second qtr, the ref misses a blatant moving pick right in front of us, and we give him crap every time the ball come down to our end of the court.
Finally there's a time out and the ref comes right up to us and says, "What's the problem, fellas?"
So we tell him about the blown call in excruciating detail.
He responded with a shrug, points to the teams as they came back on the floor and said, "When these guys start playing better, I'll start reffing better."
Perfect…he even caught our eye occasionally during the game, giving some expression, as if to ask if we were ok with his performance.
It was hilarious, and we found as we watched closely, that he was in fact, ridiculously good.

In FB the AU players get the golden handshake after the game (the Benjamin rolled up real tight) In BB the AU players get a discount card to the Golden Corral in Opelika after the game. That's why the players were upset

The SEC hires the worst bball refs in the nation

It only contributes to the shitty product on the court.

I was wondering that last night when this incident came across my Twitter. I can't recall any other incident in college basketball where a ref tossed a fan, and wondered how they even have that authority. No surprise it was Teddy Valentine though.
I'd tell him to GFH.

Me too. I'd make an officer or security guard ask me to leave.

I can see if there was serious disruption or the fan came on court, touched a player coach, etc..
But for what amounts to heckling and not even cursing at that, come on

Maybe you aren't aware, but that's how it works. The home team provides security for the game and when he says you have to go, security escorts you out.
Pretty simple really
