You need protect Dak a little better if he's going to win the Heisman.

Carolina only lost one starter from last year's group and will plug in a red shirt junior in Mike Matulis to fill that gap in 2014. I'm proud of being ranked #4 but as one of the strongest groups on the team this season I am worried because we play two out of the three teams ahead of us this year. Hopefully we will gel and any doubts will be cleared up early in the season. Like any other team, injuries are my biggest concern even though we are as deep as we have ever been in recent memory lack of playing time is my biggest fear.

Dak only took 8 of our 23 allowed sacks last season -- while playing about 65% of the overall snaps. His protection wasn't a problem.

For comparison, Russell took 10 sacks in 22% of the snaps.

Did you read the description? Our starting 5 is good.

Tunsil is good. No, scratch that, Tunsil is elite.

Justin Bell is good-ish.

Aaron Morris is a question mark to me, because we're not sure if he's healed or even in shape.

Ben Still's inexperienced.

We're probably starting a Juco transfer at right tackle, which is yet another question mark.

And, beyond those guys, you've got a bunch of people with little-to-no playing time. I'll give you this: IF Cooper's legit, IF Taylor's legit, IF Morris is healthy, IF Still or Bell can figure out the center spot, then I think we'll be just fine... IF they can all keep from getting hurt.

Oh, and this is yet another reason why Austin Golson can get fricked with a flaming cinderblock.

I'd say e protected Dak pretty good last year (even though he got hurt...)

Bo - 437 pass attempts - 24 sacks = 18 sacks/passes
Dak - 267 pass attempts - 8 sacks = 33 sacks/passes

#5 is too generous for Bama until we know the lineup. They could be better, and they could be worse.
if its cam rob, dom jackson, kelly, brown, sheppard we should be pretty good at run blocking at least

I was referring to Dak's ability to avoid injury. He took 65% of the snaps and still got injured. Seems like he's injury prone. Dak will be carrying your team on his back this season and he runs the ball a lot which will open him up to big hits. If he goes down I don't think state has the talent to beat anybody in the SEC with a pulse.

This is the worst list for the OL that I've seen all year. Holy shite. Laughably bad, IMO.

And I don't really care about UF at 12. They were bad last year, so whatever.

But they list the stats last year like they matter, and they slide right over that 3 years starter Chaz Green was out all season, Dj Humphries was out half the season, and don't even mention that the two guards that will start are now playing their proper position, GUARD, instead of tackle, because every tackle on the roster was injured.

I know these pre season lists are garbage, but any writer could have thrown that in with like literally 5 minutes of research on the internet.

Jesus H frick that was bad.

Talk about misleading.

You can't be sacked on a rushing attempt. So of course a guy who has fewer passing attempts will have fewer sacks.

Sorry, wasn't a flame. He must be progressing fairly well though, so that's a positive.

Really, cause we beat you with a true freshmen last year playing 3 Qrts of the game

The same can be said for Bo

ETA: I love how every Ole Miss fan thinks Dak is incapable of sitting in the pocket and hitting wide outs 30 yards down the field. I know it was Rice, but go watch highlights of our bowl game. Not to mention, Dak gets the ball out about twice as fast as Tyler Russell.

Yeah a Sam Pittman coached OL isn't going to finish as low as #10 in the conference. Between him and Bielema's system that has consistently spit out NFL lineman, I think we'll be fine.

So let me get this right. Auburn loses 2 starters 1 which was taken #2 overall. A&M loses arguably the best tackle in the draft and we return 4 out of 5 starters and are #3?

My biggest problem with these kinds of lists is,to what extent was type of offense and qb accounted for. Sure u can look a purely at metrics such as yards per rush, sacks, rushing yards etc. but does that tell the whole story? How many sacks did A&M not give up because of Manziel escaping? Auburn is a run based spread offense which inherently limits opponents sack opportunities. Just seems it would be kind of hard in a lot of cases to make an apple to apple comparison
