Why? Finished ranked #8, 10-3 with a win over Michigan in Orange Bowl.
Return 9 starters on defense, 7 starters on offense, QB Francois in year two now so the experience is there. People expect Clemson to drop off a bit so FSU with a very good chance to win the ACC. Seems like they are easily in the top 5 discussion.

Even if FSU loses to the Gumps in Sept, their conference is a joke and 12-1 will get them in the playoffs and they could beat Bama in the rematch.

FSU doesn't have the Oline to go 12-1. They'll take an arse pounding in game 1.

A rematch of a regular season game would be such bullshite. Totally unfair to the team that won round 1. Would be the beginning of the end for the current playoff format.
