At what point do you stop blaming the player and start blaming the coach?

It's no question that Adam Griffith is God awful. But when do you stop blaming him for his lack of performance and start blaming the coaching staff.

Saturday night could lead to the most specific melt ever seen on this board if the rebs are able to pull out a win on a missed bama field goal.

He is the worst kicker I have ever seen. I'm going to refrain from bashing a 20 year old kid but he is literally the worst.

I have no doubt Griffith is doing the best he can so there is no reason to be too hard on him. Having no viable alternative (apparently) is 100% on the coaching staff. Griffith probably shouldn't be the PK for Bama right now, but I'm not sure there is an option B on the team.

If Saban has a weakness it is the kicking game. He signs great players, but kickers are a different breed.

your refrains are highly ineffective.

I hate to admit, but it might have to come to that in order for something to be done about the lack of talent this guy has show in college football.

Leigh Tiffen

Leigh was very good for us. He just had one bad game against Arkansas early in his career. He was solid after that.

I'd rather have a terrible kicker than an awful quarterback. What is it..? 5 interceptions in two games now? Thanks JJ.

I don't think we have a plan B right now. I believe we have another #1 kicker in the country committed for this upcoming class but that obviously doesn't help us this season.

To be fair, he struggled last year with a back injury. i think Saban has to stick with it or otherwise destroy his confidence. I think he is something like 5 for the last 15 though and the kicks Saturday he should have made. If we are going to get to the playoffs and be successful we are going to need those points.

Well there was a guy at the end of the 1st quarter and the game Sat this kicked a 15 or 20 yarder as part of the kick for tuition thing. I doubt he has used all 4 years of his ncaa eligibility. Im not saying, im just saying...

One of these is not like the others. Tiffen had the one bad game against Arkansas as a true freshman backup. Other than that, he really had a solid career. His senior year he was 30/35 on FGs and an important part of Alabama's undefeated national championship season. He was an AP all-american and Groza finalist.

For some reason I thought Leigh was Bama's other kicker for 9-6 plus the aforementioned Arkansas game
