Okla St has more, although the vast majority are in wrestling, something I don't think any SEC school has.

And, if I'm not mistaken, LSU still has more national championships than any other school outside of the state of California.

Lately, one could get the impression that it is either Texas A&M or Missouri.

Mississippi State ranks #18 nationally in Forbes magazine's "America's Best College Buys".

Last time I checked, they were close, but not quite.

I'm including football championships as well.

47 championships in 8 different sports.

It looks like Okie may have just passed LSU.

But notice I said "OUTSIDE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA".

Also that list doesn't include football championships, nor does it include LSU's 1936 Basketball title.

ETA: And come on, Div II and III? I'm being serious here.

It's strictly a list of NCAA championships, FWIW.

A better wording might be '5th amongst major schools' then, fair enough.

Keep piling up the bad Karma gumpdyke. Mighty will be the fall when it happens, and it will happen. Without football, Bama is Vanderbilt South.

The thread may wind up having the opposite intended effect...Tides athletic program shortcomings being pointed out for 8 pages or so.

5th. There is a Div II and III team above LSU in that list.

2nd outside of the state of California, with two more titles to come this year.

But DEFINITELY FIRST in the SEC in National Titles.

Not if you include individual ones too.

Are you trying to tell me that when AU is a better academic school than UGA? That's really lol worthy. You've got us when it comes to vet school, but why don't you look up ANY overall ranking from any list you can find and show me one where UGA isn't above auburn.

UGA is the 3rd best school in the SEC behind VU and just a smidge behind UF. It's a top 50 public university in the country.
