As The Plains Continue Not To Burn: What if Cam Newton really is innocent?

Seems like the blessed one has grinded the gears of some nonAuburn SEC fans. Most of this seems to be directly linked to the allegations of being paid to play at Auburn. Despite him visiting sick kids in hospitals (which goes unreported and not a media stunt), going back to get his degree in the offseason which is rare and having generous foundations, people still seem to hate his guts
So I present Two hypotheticals for you to answer:
1- If Cam could be undeniably proven innocent of all accused wrong doing at a 4:00pm pressed tomorrow, how would you feel about him?
2- If Cammy Cam had never once been implicated in any wrong doing and just played at the same level while maintaining a typical off the field reputation, how would you feel?

My opinion is that the majority of elite SEC players receive some form of illegal benefits at some point, so I really dont care about that. Auburn was good enough at cheating to win and retain a natty, props to them.

The same as it is now. He's a great player. It's not like the 'fact' he was paid had any effect on his talent/play.

I don't like him because he's cocky. Don't care if he was paid.

Don't see how you can be cocky when you had probably the most dominant individual season by carrying a good, not great, Auburn team to a title.

I wish Chicken would allow the old "As the Plains Burn" thread to made available for viewing. It was a 900+ pages of hate, speculation and slander all dedicated towards Auburn and Cam Newton.
As someone who joined after ATPB, y'all don't truly understand what I am talking about when I mention the "hate for Cam Newton"

I read the thread back before I had an account here, I know the level of hate. I wouldnt call it all slander since many of the accusations were likely true, but Bama and LSU fans getting upset over cheating is pretty funny.
People were upset that Auburn and Cam broke the rules and flaunted the results of the rule breaking so openly. I just wish more Auburn fans would be open about it. My friend's father is a pretty big Auburn donor and they all openly acknowledge it was a blatant violation of the rules, they just dont care as they shouldnt. It would piss off the naysayers so much more if every Auburn fan just said "we cheated, we won, we got away with it, DWI".

I like him but would like him a lot more if he had stayed at UF.

Well said..... pretty much sums it up. Was a great past time for many.
Do you have any new accusations? It's going to be a long summer.

I want to say it reached 1036 pages

You would think that with so many accusations likely being true, an entire army of NCAA investigators who lived in Auburn trying to find out the truth, an HBO team that was sent in to investigate and so many witnesses with supposed recordings sent to the FBI that a shred of evidence would be available to the public by now.
You probably still believe there are enough WMDs in Iraq to make Russia jealous too huh?

Same opinion as now. Really like Cam. UF would probably be in completely different shape right now had Cam matured a little sooner.
