Basically, there are coaches just waiting in line to go to Alabama. Also, there was no riff between Sark and Saban. It was just probably that Sark wanted to go to the NFL all along. Don't OT attention to the reports about that riff with our infallible Saban. I mean, that's only TWO OCs that couldn't get along with Saban and lost within two months.

But Chip Kelly would be a fit as well because he and Saban would get along tremendously.

Will BAMA fans and writers EVER get over themselves?

quote:

** First, understand that the takes involving Sarkisian's departure are going to be plentiful and scolding hot. I can't speak to a riff between Sark and Saban, but here's what I do know: Sark is taking a job in the National Football League that will have him overseeing an offense that includes the league's MVP (Matt Ryan) and best wide receiver (Julio Jones). All that and the Falcons are the NFC champs. Those are the undeniable facts I'm aware of as it relates to Sark moving on.
** As for where Alabama goes from here, I wouldn't discount the possibility of Mike Locksley taking over as the OC and QB coach. In coaching circles, he's highly regarded in those areas, which he handled for seven seasons at Illinois and Maryland (wrapped around a three-year head coaching stint at New Mexico) before coming on board at UA as an offensive analyst. When reviewing candidates for the opening, I'm looking first and foremost at background WITH THE QUARTERBACK POSITION. Locksley carries legitimate credibility among his peers in that area and has a firsthand understanding of what Alabama has at the position and what Saban wants the offense to b
e moving forward.
** Chip Kelly and George Godsey make sense for the same reason: Ed Marynowitz. Back at Alabama as the Crimson Tide's associate athletic director for football, Marynowitz was Kelly's right hand man from a personnel standpoint in Philadelphia. Money shouldn't be an issue for Kelly, either, who is due $18 million from the San Francisco 49ers after they fired him one year into a four-year deal. As for Godsey, who was most recently the offensive coordinator for the Houston Texas, he not only has a close relationship with Marynowitz that dates back to their time together at Central Florida, but the friendship also includes current UA offensive line coach Brent Key, who also worked with Marynowitz and Godsey at UCF. He may only be 33 years old, but I'm told Marynowitz's word goes a long way with Sabah.
** Attrition on Alabama's staff is more of a problem for other programs in college football than it is for the Crimson Tide. In other words, when a spot comes open in Tuscaloosa, head coaches at other places -- including elite programs -- brace for what could be a loss of one of their own assistants to UA. From that standpoint, staff turnover in Tuscaloosa isn't celebrated like some tend to think.

Well no fricking shite. I thought that this was kind of obvious.

As long as it rustles opposing fans' jim jims, probably not.

Yeah, it's ridiculous.

Finebaum's entire show thus far has been nothing but fantasizing about Saban hiring Kelly.

Yeah, there is no possible way that a man would take a better job opportunity when it was offered unless things were shite at his current job. He would be the first person in the history of the world to take a job purely out of self improvement and moving up

Between this and that other guy saying Sark wouldn't leave without Saban's "blessing"

Stop equating your dumpster fire at LSU to Alabama.

Truth is, they ARE two different situations. They may not be waiting in line at LSU, but Saban has a proven record.

He will be if we hire Chip Kelly to replace Sark. That's about as good of an OC as you can get.

Except it will never happen. He's not going back to being just a coordinator.

Sounds to me like you're scared shitless for your team and their lifelong DL coach.

Would rather my writers sugar coat it than watch my team shite coat another season.

When you win 4 national titles in 8 years, and are on a 3 year SEC championship run, and favored again next season, it's sweet enough already. You don't have to sugar coat all that.
