Should be against the law for football fields, but especially baseball fields. Was watching the, I think OU game, the other day and they had one. I'm assuming they all have this in the big12. Can they not grow turf grass in this region or something? Looks terrible and has to be awkward to play on.

You do realize that the majority of the country has pretty cold winters right?

When it is cold, snow and winter, real grass does not grow and unless you like watching baseball played on brown, shitty looking real grass, I would suggest you adjust your TV color on your settings

Texas has turf.. but I believe that we are getting grass soon. Football is as well in 2025 or 2026.

I predict the Disch will get a nice upgrade soon.. perhaps some outfield seating and grass.. add around 3-4000 seats to bring the total to 10-12

But we shall see.. a bright and shiny new coach would be on my list first..

I realize that. I used to be a GC superintendent. There's over seeding for that. This is the South where you can grow grass.

So should Neyland have artificial or their traditional grass?

You have to pick one.

It depends. Which will hold up better under Josh Heupel’s considerable weight?

I’m weird when it comes to artificial turf.

Football wise, natural grass is the preference but I understand the artificial alternative. I do think it has its issues though.

Baseball wise, artificially is eapexially galling when the baseparhs are artificial. That’s what really turns my stomach. I can’t explain why THAT is what gets me but it is.

Y’all really should have natural grass I know you’ve had it for football but I don’t remember the baseball field with grass. I’m circa 1989-1993 as a student.

And honestly the old AstroTurf was just brutal to play in and was just like playing in concrete that happened to have an 18th inch turf.

Must be why Target Field (completely open stadium) in freaking Minnesota had to have their opening day game cancelled this past Thursday. They must not have gotten the memo about Minnesota's freakishly cold winters.
