His record wasn't the worst but the fact that he quit and ran out of town after only two seasons is pretty funny

That's a far cry from a miserable failure. Not a success, by any means, either.

So much recruiting success that has been parlayed into arguably the greatest dynasty in CFB history, all of which will cease almost immediately once Saban rides off into the sunset.

Anybody with a brain (which is like, maybe half our fanbase) understands this. We should conceivably hire a competent replacement (not Saban, obviously, but competent) and sign Top 5-12 classes every year, but it won't be like this.

This is the greatest run we will ever see and most of us know it. Those who don't are going to hopefully just jump off bridges so we don't have to put up with them when the next guy has his first 10-4 season.

IDK man, it seems like with the number of first round draft picks and championships, they might know a little bit about talent, too. Except for ESPN.

Bama's first round draft picks since the 2011 draft (Bama's first #1 ranked recruiting class)

Julio Jones 5*
DJ Fluker 5*
Donta Hightower 5*
Rolando McClain 4*
Mark Ingram 4*
James Carpenter 4*
Marcel Dareus 4*
Dre Kirkpatrick 5*
Trent Richardson 5*
Mark Barron 5*
Chance Warmack 3*
Dee Miliner 5*
Ha-Ha Clinton Dix 5*
CJ Moseley 4*

You know, those NFL GMs just in it to sell subscriptions to bammers and shite.

This is my point. You aren't going to have the same success. Bama is going to go from perennial number one classes and a national title every other year to top 5ish classes on average and a NC every 6-7 years.

You people acting like its next man up who's just going to keep the status quo are the ones who are going to have the toughest time.

I mean, honestly, I'm not even sure it will be that good. If it is, I will ecstatic.

Honestly, I think people's expectations are that we will be about like LSU was with Miles the first 5 years after Saban left. Frankly, I'm not sure we will be. If we are, I will be really happy.

Unlike LSU, Bama had enormous tradition and a history of winning before Saban. I'm sure the University, its football team, and its fans will somehow find a way to survive.

Bama has more SEC and more National titles than any other school in this conference even if you don't count Saban's titles here. Don't forget, Bama has been the flagship of this conference for a long, long time. It didn't just start in 2007.

Of course, you said he'd never stay more than 3-5 years and here he is 10 years later - twice as long as he's been any place else - so you should be used to being wrong about Bama and Saban by now.

You just went on a rant proclaiming greatness because someone suggested that Bama may not be the undisputed king of CFB football once Saban leaves.

You're the exact type of person I'm talking about when I say some Bama fans will have a hard time accepting reality once Saban leaves.

Thanks for giving my post more substance.

At this point Bama has become a pinnacle job for any coach. Top coaches from across the nation would want to come into the loaded program Saban has built because it's the best chance at hitting the ground running.

Sort of like how Urban inherited a loaded OSU and people were actually surprised he did so well so early

Urban was an upgrade over Tressell.

See the difference in the situations?

You'd think LSU fans were all Freddie Mercury they way they can change pitch so quickly.
