Meh. We've played Tulsa alot OOC. It isn't a rivalry. Besides A&M elected to play us again in 2009 after their butthurt subsided because they couldn't live without us. Then they realized what they had gotten into and backed out of Jerryworld because they couldn't win there.

LSU and A&M have played each other since 1899.
They had a great rivalry going from 1986 to 1995 where A&M beat them 6 out of 10 years (6 out of the last 7).
The geographic proximity of the 2 schools make them natural rivals, plus, we Texans love to come over to Cajun country to gamble and eat their fine food.

Leave to UGA fan to talk trash behind that weak schedule.

Wonder when they finally announce that TAMU - LSU will play on rivalry weekend. Was hoping for next year but they had another one year only schedule. Wonder why they couldn't get the permanent schedule done for 2013.

I guess you Arky fans will never learn, but this whole final weekend deal comes down to a matter of logistics.
These are the paramters that we are working within:
1. Every SEC is going to play a game that final weekend.
2. The following teams have natural rivalry games on taht weekend: Florida (FSU); Georgia (GT); South Carolina (Clemson); UK-UT; Bama-Auburn; and, Ole Miss-MSU.
3. Vandy has a 10 year contract with Wake, and no one else wants to play Vandy that weekend as it would be death at the box office.
4. That leaves Arkansas, LSU, A&M and Missouri to sort out for the final weekend.
5. Missouri is in the East, while the other three are in the West, which mean that the only one of the other three that can play Missouri every year is their permanent cross-division rival (Arkansas).
6. If Missouri doesn't play Arkansas that final weekend (and A&M play LSU), then that will leave A&M and Missouri with an open date the final weekend, violating the first parameter, above. Thus, Missouri has to play Arkansas, leaving LSU free to play A&M.

This would probably have been a good argument if you're university hadn't just agreed to a potential 30 game OOC series with Arkansas. Nice effort though. Just keep trying and something will eventually stick.

The "history" LSU and Texas A&M have with each other is laughable and greatly exaggerated. Arkansas and Texas A&M have much more history with one another, and Arkansas even has more history with LSU than Texas A&M. The facts are in Arkansas' favor and undeniable.
ETA: this just comes off as A&M seeking a new big brother since their actual rival (old big brother) won't play them anymore and LSU looking for an easier last game.
