What don't kill you makes you stronger.

We may get a few bumps and bruises this season, but we will grow and be better for it next year.

Just hoping we can win 6 and make a bowl, and would be very satisfied with 7 wins THIS year.

He doesn't have to turn anything around. This team went 10-3, 11-2, then went into a tailspin with John L. and went 4-8. There's talent on this team, all 2Bs has to do is harness it and get the team to buy in. They seem to be doing that already.

That alone implies he will have to turn it around. Back to back 10+ win seasons to 4-8 is not an overnight fix. You are probably looking at a 2-4 year rebuild. Meanwhile the conference has changed. TAMU in the B12 was an easier game than they will be in the SEC so the Hogs could easily have 3 losses just in the west for the next few years. State and Ole Miss are both getting better and will not be doormats for Hog wins.

I think the 10 wins a year is a thing of the past and at least for the next 4 years 8 win seasons may be the truer goal.

You're not getting it. One bad season does not constitute an entire rebuild. There are a lot of guys still on this team that went 11-2 a couple years ago. We have talent, the staff under John L. was just a complete circus and didn't know how to utilize it.

No, just some cuts and bruises, but nothing fatal.
We are headed in the right direction.

After last season and what BB has left to work with I will be happy with 6 wins and a bowl. Bowl win making 7 wins.

I do get it but turnover in college football is only a few years. Even with a redshirt you are looking at 5 years and what about those that are only there for 3 before going pro early. Hogs could come back strong and go 10 wins again but I would not bet the house on it. You have a B1G guy in his 40's with most of his experience coming from not playing in the SEC. Is it possible there will be some adjustment? Mizzou thought they would come in and beat "Old Man Football" and look how that year finished up.

Just go by years

2008 (5-7) BP Year #1
2009 (8-5) BP Year #2
2010 (10-3) BP Year #3
2011 (11-2) BP Year #4
2012 (4-8) JLS dumpster fire year

Viewed another way
How many wins does BB have?
How many of those are SEC wins?
How many of those are elite SEC wins?

They will win 1 SEC game this coming season, maybe 2, and 3 would make a great season.

If last year didn't kill us, this year certainly won't.

At least Arkansas had Tyler Wilson, Cobi Hamilton, Dennis Johnson, Knile Davis, and Chris Gragg, among others, last season. That helped to overcome the terrible coaching. I expect them to take a step back on offense this year with the adjustment to a more power-rush based offense, and to upgrade on the defensive side of the ball.

That being said, it will be a long year for Arkansas fans with that schedule.

Not exactly very comparable IMO. Pinkel and Mizzou came in expecting to win by playing the same way they did in the B12. Their staff and philosophies didn't change at all as far as I know. I know the circumstances are different but Bielema diversified his staff a lot and brought in new guys from every major conference. We have ZERO Big 10 guys coaching the offensive side of the ball and only his 2 best from Wisconsin on defense. Our offensive staff is made up of 2 SEC guys (OL and OC), a B12 guy (WR) and a PAC12 guy (RB). All of whom are very proven. And we had Miami's WR coach for about 2 weeks before he got hired to be the OC as Cuse.

He deliberately brought in a staff wasn't full of people that only knew the B1G because he knew the SEC isn't like the B1G.

It was certainly nice to have all of them but I think our replacements will surprise a lot of people. Our rushing should be better than it was last year with an improved o-line. Knile Davis was great in '10 but he never came back into himself last year at all. He was our 3rd best RB. And Brandon Allen is no Tyler Wilson by any means but I think he can be a serviceable hander offer to J Williams and A Collins and a decent passer off the play action. We've also got a couple senior receivers in Julian Horton and Javontee Herndon who are itching for their moment to shine. They have showed lots of promise but never gotten to showcase it because they were behind Wright, Childs and Adams 2 years ago and last year Tyler only ever threw it to Cobi.

We'll still take a step back on offense but I doubt it'll be as abysmal as people are expecting.

I see that but here is the USA Today and they have the Hogs at #83 (second worst in the SEC after Kentucky)

Dream season: Arkansas weathers the storm to win six games in Bielema's first season.

Nightmare season: The Razorbacks open 3-0 but lose every game the rest of the way.
