I guess he thinks it was Petrino's plan to go from Mallett to Wilson to shite. Doesn't make much sense and I wouldn't have given Peyton Manning a chance behind our oline last season.

Why thank you.

This is a thread about the opinion of the game. If you don't like my opinion about the game don't read it. I picked yall to win and alot of people didn't.

I think folks are reading WAY too much into the "ULL almost beat Florida" line of reasoning. That was during a 3-game run in which Florida was stinking it up after effectively losing the East to Georgia. The week before ULL, FL squeaked by Missouri 14-7 with a late goal line stand. The week after ULL, FL scored 23 points on an FCS opponent against which a John L. Smith coached Hog team hung 49. ULL didn't get Florida's A-game (or even it's B-game). As the Hogs' season opener and BB's first game as our coach, ULL will get our A game.

Evidently. But Petrino isn't there to coach him so it doesn't matter.

Do you blame them? I had to contain my laughter because of my neighbor. UF was supposed to be a lot better than arkie that year too. Things change a lot from year to year. hopefully arkie will still suck but you never know.

A lot has changed since that game. Arkansas' coach has changed twice, UF's once. The teams are totally different, and one was garbage last year and the other one went to a BCS bowl.

Right because Petrino is the only coach able to coach quarterbacks

Chaney has coached more successful NFL QB's than Petrino has

There is something to be said for this.

Florida had a roooough stretch there, then turned it up again for FSU.

That being said, how good is Arkansas' A-game right now?

We match up well with ULL, so I think our A game is good enough to cover the spread against them.

Yeah but he also won't have him slinging it all over the field.

He'll have to without a great running game or when they start stacking the box. There is no guarantee that Arkansas can run the ball after last year and losing the top 2 rushers. Alex hasn't proven anything yet. He could be great but he could just be average. Plus ULL was decent at stopping the run. That is why I said it will come down to Allen and how well he can throw.

You're right. There's no guarantee. But I would bet a lot of money that we run the ball very well.

And Allen has a very good arm. His problem last year was upstairs. If he's gotten it together mentally (which it seems like he has based on teammates' testimonies) then he'll be better than serviceable. I'm more worried about receivers than Allen.

arkie probably has a chip on their shoulder. There is something to be said for that. See Louisville in the Sugar Bowl. We rode that all last year after people said we couldn't compete in the SEC.

No, they were 42nd in the country against the run, and the only reason they're ranked that high is because everyone passed against them. Their pass defense was 112th.

They had 475/472 Rushes to Passes Attempted on them. As close to 50% as you are going to get. And 42nd is decent. Thats the top 3rd of the nation.

We will rape those guys up the middle and when they stack the box will expose their new CB's against Senior Receivers and great TE play.

Chris Smith and Trey Flowers will dominate the edges defensively

If you think ULL will score less than 21 you are delusional. Watching the Arkansas spring game it is obvious their defense leaves much to be desired.
ULL is returning a the entire back field from last year and a top 10 center in the country, not to mention a WR group that features Jamal Robinson. If you don't know who he is now, you will after Saturday.
And as for as the Defense goes ULL has a new defensive coordinator,James Willis, former LB coach at Auburn then Alabama. Majority of the woes last year were from the crap of a defensive coordinator putting guys in bad positions. They are returning the leading tackler (Anderson) from last year along with the leading sack guy (Ringo). The secondary may be young but the safety position will be more experienced and the CB have been a strong point so for in camp.

So any one who thinks it will not be a close game is trying to psych themselves out.
