I’ll let you in on a little secret, Walmart gives very little and doesn’t really care much about the state of Arkansas. They donate nothing to sports anymore and with the exception of one of the children putting some money into pet art projects they do very little for the state.

For as much wealth as they have they donate very little and I mean very little back to the state. While north west Arkansas is doing well and has become a very nice place to live it still is decades behind other areas in many ways due to the lack putting money back into the community.

For decades the roads leading into their tech building which houses something like 10 to 15 thousand employees was basically a single 2 lane road. Instead of helping the city by donating money to widening the road they told their employees to come in at different times of the day.. some would start work at 4am, 5am, 6am etc… this is the kind of simple minded bullshite with deal with, with Walmart.

There is a reason why Arkansas is still ranked dead last in almost every statistical category while at the same time having one of the worlds richest companies based out of here.

For some reason people in Arkansas are proud to be associated with Walmart but they truly don’t understand how much this company is taking advantage of the state with its low tax burden etc.

So no, Arkansas will never be able to compete with NIL, the state can’t compete in really anything to be honest.

The Hunt family of JB Hunt are big basketball fans.

I think they invest a lot in baseball.

Just a much better investment than football due to awful hires.

Sam Pittman complained that football wasn't getting as much in the other sports, gee I wonder why Sam? Supposedly football is getting more money in NIL but they way behind the rest of the SEC.

Arkansas isn't going to go all aggie, pour 20 million on a recruiting class just to watch them enter the portal.

They have a wait and see approach. You win with what you have for now then more money will be given to you when you need it.

Arkansas is almost last in everything due to the crime and poverty of the Arkansas delta counties.

Take those counties away and they improve dramatically.

Arkansas can compete in NIL since Ole Miss has 15 million in the NIL collective. But they just don't want to spend any money.

Did you see Tyson’s 2023 financials? Staying in business is the primary concern.

Personally and as a private business owner, I’m not throwing millions at something as ridiculous as an NIL collective. I’ll donate a nice sum to academics in a heartbeat.

We need some oil money donors, they seem to be very generous when it comes to sports.

Not sure why everybody assumes corporations HQ'd in a state are NIL donors.
Or even alums from said school (example: Michael Dell) giving a single shite about the sports programs at the school they attended.

Bud Walton paid roughly half the construction cost of BWA. That was 30 years ago. He was a huge basketball fan. Since then Walmart has donated almost nothing to the athletic department. They have donated over 500 million towards academic endeavors.

That doesn't stop Auburn's boosters.
Most big auburn boosters are motivated by their loser mentality against society. Bama would be se much better off if auburn was in Georgia where they could take out their self-hatred against the Bulldogs. They will always and forever be losers............Georgia and Tenn basically have the whole state to themselves. If they only knew what it was like.

Unlike the aggies, they are smart enough not to keep throwing money at a failing product.
