That is a gigantic number. If you average 5 yards a carry which is pretty strong you have to rush 60 times. They averaged 5.28 a play.

Arkansas doesnt run plays that fast since they only averaged 64.5 plays a game last season, they wont run enough plays.

If they meet thier rushing play average from last season, they will get about 208 yards. That is taking thier yards per rush times their rush plays per game from last year.

You will need to average 7.6 yards per rush if you rush 40 times.

Stay on offense and grind it out. Auburn can't score if it doesn't have possession of the ball. (except a safety)

This should be one of those new Captain Obvious commercials.

Arkansas needs to make sure the same chain is used to measure both their and Auburn's first downs.

Arky has to win the time of possession battle but time; like double. Gonna have to grind it out and keep AU offense off the field. It'll keep the hog defense fresh and the AU defense tired from fighting with Bert's big bodied bullies. That's their best shot at winning. Every time Arky goes 3 and out they are completely fricking themselves.

The other big factor in this game is who plays QB for auburn, and for how long. I think if Johnson plays the whole game then Arky has a good shot. If Marshall comes in then Arky needs to already have a lead and play mistake free ball the rest of the way. Can't let Marshall get momentum and mount a comeback.

In both of AU's losses last year, they won the TOP battle. For AU's very near loss (UGA), they won it handily. Except for the cupcakes, AU lost the TOP in the other games. Doubling it, yeah not possible. For AU's offense, that has little to nothing to do with the outcome. The quicker AU scores seems to work out better for them.

We need to win the 1st down battles. Keep Auburn working out of 2nd and 3rd and long. Win the turn over battle. Score in the red zone. Contain Marshall.

That'd work. Force AU in 3rd and 4+ yards on a regular basis. Malzahn's offense usually struggles at that point.
