IMO, they were trending upward but slid this year.

Projected lineup

OFFENSE

QB: Tyler Wilson
RB: Knile Davis
WR: Cobi Hamilton
WR: Marquel Wade
WR: Julian Horton(DGB here when we sign him)
TE: Chris Gragg
OT: Jason Peacock
OG: Alvin Bailey
C: Travis Swanson
OG: Brey Cook
OT: Mitch Smothers

DEFENSE
DE: Trey Flowers
DT: Robert Thomas
DT: Byran Jones
DE: Tank Wright
LB: Ross Rasner
LB: Terrell Williams
LB: Alonzo Highsmith
CB: Darius Winston
S: Eric Bennett
S: Darrell Smith
CB: Tevin Mitchel

Offense: 8 returning starters
Defense: 7 returning starters

I didn't count Flowers or Rasner as returning starters, but Flowers started some game and will likely be on the All-SEC Freshman team and Ross Rasner was splitting time 50-50 with Jerico.

Jerry Franklin and Tramain Thomas are no question the biggest losses.

I'm not going to predict W/L, because well, we don't even know the schedule.

Big ? marks offensively at WR and the whole Knile Davis Situation, Wilson a big plus, only losing 1 OT and 1 OG on the

Not even worried about WR. One thing about the OL, our RT at the end of the season was the backup, our starter Smothers was hurt, so we really lose only 1 starter on the OL.

Defense is losing a good deal, 8 major contributors I heard...their defense will likely be shite

We lose a couple backups, mainly Elton Ford(been here 15 years it seems) and Issac Madison. We lose Jake, Jerry, Tramain and Jerico as starters, but Jerico had an awful season and lost a ton of playing to Ross Rasner.

In terms of talent, I think Arkansas will be very similar to the 2010 and 2011 teams. Catch some breaks, 10+ wins. No breaks 8-9 wins at worst.

Next year, we'll have a veteran o-line w/ quality depth, an experienced QB that should easily improve on a very impressive initial campaign, and Davis, Johnson, and Wingo all return at HB. The WRs save Hamilton will be inexperienced, but there's a ton of talent there. Arkansas is leading for the nation's top WR in Dorial Green-Beckam and don't sleep on redshirt WR Quinta Funderburk. Throw in an elite TE like Gragg and Bobby's offense should be more balanced than 2011, a la 2010. I expect Arkansas again to have one of the top offenses in the nation.

Defensively, Arkansas should be no worse on the D-line. Bequette hurts, but Trey Flowers will replace him rather seemlisly. Kid is a beast and got a lot of PT w/ Jake and Tank missing a lot of games. Alonzo Highsmith is back at LB and a big playmaker, but not much experience after him. Losing Tramaine Thomas at S hurts, but Bennet will become that unit's playmaker starting next year. Tevin Mitchell back at corner and I expect Darius Winston's best year as a Hog alongside him.

Hocker is back at K and Breeding at P. Arkansas will still be dangerous in the return game with Wade and Johnson coming back.

Hogs will be just fine in 2012. 9-11 wins. More favorable sched.

Not worried about replacing 3 of your Top 4 WRs? Hamilton is the only one with legit playing experience.

You replace Freeman and G. Cook on the OL, that's 2 guys. Peacock/Smothers are irrelevant to that, they started at another OT spot opposite of Freeman and (Grant) Cook at OG started all year. So you're replacing TWO OL Starters, not 1.

I count 5 starters. The 4 you said and you have to count either Madison or Gatson. They started every game at corner opposite of Winston who got benched for Mitchel. I think you're counting Winston as a returning starter and he's not, he got benched in favor of Mitchel who you're also counting as a returning starter.

I will really miss Adams and Wright, but WR is probably our deepest unit on the team. Wade and Funderburk were both 4* if that means anything and Petrino's system is very WR friendly. I think they will get open (we have tons of speed at WR), they just need to catch the ball. Getting Dorial would make them even better

Good points but it could be argued that the reason they started is because they were seniors...neither of them were overly talented or that good really. With experience the guys replacing them will be much better. If we move smothers to RT and peacock to LT it technically would be 4 returning starters...petrino makes his OL practice at both

Peacock belongs at guard, he doesn't have the feet and is a little fat to be playing OT.

We scored at total of 31 pts. against #1 and #2. Tyler's 1st year as a starter and playing without Knile.

We'll be fine next year...11-1 with another loss to Bama...beat LSU at WMS

Wilson got up after some tremendous hits this year. The offensive line needs to develop and to have depth; the hogs do not need to lose Wilson to injury.

Arkansas needs to recruit some defensive studs good enough to replace some of your defensive starters or at least be good enough to have quality playing time. This would give the starters some relief without a big drop in production level. The hogs need more depth. Teams like Bama and LSU wear your starters down. By game's end fatigue sets in. 9-3 is my prediction.

10-2 at worst or 11-1 at best

Really though, who the frick knows? It's 2011. For all we know some crazy mofo lands at Ole Miss or A&M and they pick a few teams off. Maybe Miss St shows up? Maybe Auburn blows up? Maybe Bama and LSU lose a couple (gasp!)......
