Interested?

His name was thrown out there a lot in the past but now I hear little discussion regarding him and HC openings.

What about you Wilcats? I think he would be a good choice for Kentucky. Maybe even Tennessee.

Can't have him. He's Saban's double-secret coach in waiting.

What great head coaches have fallen out of the Saban tree? Serious question.

You realize you are in a small minority in relation to your fellow posters?

They love them some Strong long time.

you want a guy who has no head coaching experience and has never been a DC away from Saban?

As an Auburn I'm all for it.

I can't think of one. They keep trying to hire his disciples thinking it'll be the same but it's not. Just like with people hiring Belicheck assistants. They just don't pan out.

I think Strong is more proven than Smart right now, but a defensive hire is definitely the way to go right now.

Didn't Jimbo Fisher coach under Saban?

EDIT: Mark Dantonio's a big one.

It would be a bit of a risk, IMO. We just don't know what he would be as a head coach, and without Saban.

Who are the "Saban disciples" (stupid term) that have not panned out?

Dont know if your serious, but I dont want to someone to take over after Saban who has no head coach experience. We've had some bad luck with that. I'd like to see Smart go somewhere and get some experience before he comes back.
