j/k. But just like OU's football team, you need Texans to get you anywhere.
Just as Tennessee needs border states and huge slew of other schools to be successful.
However, two Arkansas players made the all BCS era Offense team from ESPN. Our home grown talent is strong we just don't have enough on defense.

I wasn't talking football. I was talking overall campus growth. You don't have enough brain cells in Arkansas to fill Arkansas State much less tFlagship.
Seriously, though, having all the Walton, Tyson, and JBHunt money is a blessing. As Steve Miller says, take the money and run.

Saw the pictures in the thread on the expansion. Looking very well (and good use of the terrain to take care of two issues -- practice facilities and athlete parking).

Dang. Everyone in this thread is so jealous because we're richer than them.

I'm a fan of working with the terrain not against it.
We are putting buildings into the ground to keep the scenic views of the Boston Mountains.

Wow is right. When building this much it's rather impressive.
*You love this gif*

Arky isn't a top 20 job. Period.
Georgia Alabama Auburn Florida Florida state Miami Virginia Tech Clemson Ohio state Michigan Nebraska LSU Southern Cal Oregon Boise St Tenn Texas Oklahoma TCU Wisconsin UCLA Notre Dame ARE ALL BETTER JOBS.
Jobs on Arky tier West Virginia South Carolina Georgia tech Louisville Cal Arizona state
So just how many of those schools were such valued and desired jobs that NFL head coaches left their franchises mid season and substantially higher paying jobs, taking massive pay cuts to coach there? Oh and not once but twice?
Yes, Arkansas is at minimum a Top 15 job, and realistically a top 8 job in college football. We're a destination job not a stepping stone like LSU, Auburn, Va Tech (will be again when Beamer retires), Miami, Clemson, UF, Oregon, TCU, UCLA, USC, etc. Coaches retire or get fired at Arkansas. It's been a loooooong time since a mens athletic coach left Arkansas on their own free will for a "better" job. Eddie Sutton himself says he was drunk when he took the Kentucky job and he never should have done it.

Maybe they wanted to coast for a while?

I agree. Costs way more to work against it.

I am from DFW and am unfamiliar with this concept. What are these things of which you speak, "mountains" as you call them?

Looks similar to what Alabama did, but not as nice

Arkansas is growing fast, but so are a lot of schools. 25k might be on campus in Fayetteville this fall, but that's still not big compared to other SEC schools.

Hey, hey, hey, this is a thread about how we're so rich and the rest of the conference are poor motherfrickers. No need to bring this shite in here...

Actually, most SEC schools are small and Arkansas is right in the middle.
UGA at 35K is the perfect number.

Oh I know. There's a ridiculous amount of construction on campus right now both academic and athletic. And the three new Athletic Master Plan projects are about to go to bid, and the stadium expansion should follow quickly afterwards...
There's a shite ton of private-sector student-related commercial and residential development, and just about all of it is infill and really fricking awesome shite. But still....
